  1. Little Boy Blue (poem)

Little Boy Blue is a poem by Eugene Field about the death of a child, a sentimental but beloved theme in 19th century poetry. Contrary to popular belief, the poem is not about the death of Field s son, who died several years after its publication. Field once admitted that the words Little Boy Blue occurred to him when he needed a rhyme for the seventh line in the first stanza. The poem first appeared in 1888 in the Chicago weekly literary journal, America . Its editor Slason Thompson changed the penultimate line That they have never seen our Little Boy Blue to its present form. The poem was republished by Charles Scribner s Sons in 1889 in Field s The Little Book of Western Verse . In 1976, Frank Jacobs wrote a parody of the poem for Mad magazine Mad magazine. Text blockquote poem The little toy dog is covered with dust, But sturdy and stanch he stands And the little toy soldier is red with rust, And his musket moulds in his hands. Time was when the little toy dog was new, And the soldier was passing fair And that was the time when our Little Boy Blue Kissed them and put them there. Now, don t you go till I come, he said, And don t you make any noise So, toddling off to his trundle bed, He dreamt of the pretty toys And, as he was dreaming, an angel song Awakened our Little Boy Blue Oh the years are many, the years are long, But the little toy friends are true Ay, faithful to Little Boy Blue they stand, Each in the same old place Awaiting the touch of a little hand, The smile of a little face And they wonder, as waiting the long years through In the dust of that little chair, What has become of our Little Boy Blue, Since he kissed them and put them there. blockquote poem References James William Searson and George Ellsworth Martin. 1911. 1. Little Blue Crunchy Things

Little Blue Crunchy Things was an United States American Rock music rock jazz group from the Milwaukee, WI Milwaukee , Wisconsin WI area. During their decade long performance career from the late 1980s to about 2000 , LBCT were a hit among audiences and the local press due to their unique mix of jazz, rock, blues , funk , and hip hop music . LBCT formed in the late 1980s, but began gaining popularity with the arrival of vocalist Noah Tabakin in 1991. Tabakin, who quickly became a fan favorite and the de facto band leader, demonstrated even in the band s earliest work the breadth of his performance ability, as the vocalist singing, rapping , and beatboxing , but in addition playing the saxophone and increasingly in later work, DJing . Featured prominently in shows was Tabakin s Freestyle music freestyling , often drawing lyrical content from audience participation and other events of the concert. The band s first album, Rhetoric album Rhetoric , was released in 1994. The lineup at this time was Bill Backes on Drum kit drums , Cara Davis on percussion instrument percussion vocals, Rick Eells on Bass guitar bass , Douglas Haynes on saxophone, Brandon Mason on trumpet trombone , Noah Tabakin on lead vocals saxophone, and Michael Wengler on guitar . Independently produced, this first album s recording quality was mediocre, and the band would release new recorded versions of a few of these songs on later albums. Between the first and second albums, Eels, Mason, and Haynes left the band. Eels was replaced by Ken Fitzsimmons, and Haynes by Bryan Elliot, but LBCT was left without a trumpet trombone player. The result was a temporary shift away from blues to a focus on funk guitar rhythms and increasing influence from Hardcore punk hardcore . The second album, Owner s Manual , is a recording of a live show at Shank Hall in Milwaukee in 1996, and features some audience favorites ...
