David Barry, 1st Earl of Barrymore , 19th Baron Barry, 6th Viscount Buttevant 10 December 1604 29 September 1642 was the posthumous child of David Barry, the son of David de Barry, 5th Viscount Buttevant , and Elizabeth Power, daughter of Richard Power, 4th Baron le Power and Curraghmore . He was born 10 March 1604 and succeeded to the Barrymore estates on 10 April 1617 on the death of his grandfather. In 1631 he married the Lady Alice Boyle , daughter of Richard Boyle , Earl of Cork, by his second wife, Catherine Fenton. Through Cork s influence he was created Earl of Barrymore on 28 February 1628. During the 1641 rebellion, he sided with the English. On 10 May 1642 he stormed the Castle of Ballymacpatrick now Careysville , near Fermoy , which was held by his grand aunt. He led a regiment at the Battle of Liscarroll in September 1642. He died of his wounds on the 29 September 1642 at Liscarroll and was buried in Boyle Vault, Youghal , County Cork , Ireland . Earl of Irvine was a title in the Peerage of Scotland . It was created in 1642 for James Campbell, Lord Kintyre. He was the son of Archibald Campbell, 7th Earl of Argyll , by his second wife Anne Cornwallis. Campbell had already been created Lord Kintyre in 1627 and was made Lord Lundie at the same time as he was granted the earldom. These titles were also in the Peerage of Scotland. He died childless in 1645 when the creations of 1642 became extinct. The lordship of Kintyre devolved upon his elder half brother Archibald Campbell, 1st Marquess of Argyll .
