Ota , also called Oda or Uta c. 874 &ndash between 899 and 903 was the wife of Arnulf of Carinthia , mother of Louis the Child , and was by marriage Queen of the East Franks and Empress. She was a member of the Conradines Conradine Dynasty , the daughter of Berengar I of Neustria Berengar, Count of Hesse . Very little is known of Ota. Her name features in her husband s documents at the beginning and towards the end of his reign, when she intervenes for the privileges of the Kremsm nster Abbey and the monastery of Alt tting , and for the Bishopric of Worms and the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising Bishopric of Freising . They are believed to have married shortly before the end of 888 Arnulf intended the marriage to win him the support of the Conradine family, which ruled in Bavaria and Lower Lorraine Lorraine . She was not crowned. She is believed to have supported her husband s rule energetically. The most notable incident involving Ota occurred in the June 899. She was accused of adultery she was said to have abandoned her body to the Unzucht , and was called before the Reichstag Holy Roman Empire Reichstag in Regensburg . She protested her innocence, and 72 noblemen swore oaths that she was so accordingly, she was acquitted. However, the experience caused her husband, already in ill health, to die at the end of 899. Her son, Louis, who became King on his father s death, was then placed in the guardianship of Hatto I, Archbishop of Mainz , Bishop Adalbero of Augsburg, and several major nobles. Ota then disappears from history she is spoken of as dead by 903, and is believed to have withdrawn to the lands of her family. Her property she bequeathed to the church. Sumbat I lang ka I died 899 was a Georgia country Georgian prince of the Bagrationi Bagratid dynasty of Tao Klarjeti and hereditary ruler of Klarjeti from c. 870 until his death. A son of List of the Kings of Georgia King Adarnase IV of Iberia , Sumbat received the province of Klarjeti as an appanage where he ruled with the title of mampali , which seems to have passed on to Sumbat and his progeny after the extinction of the line of Guaram Mampali . He also bore the Byzantine aristocracy and bureaucracy Byzantine title of Proconsul antipatos Patrician ancient Rome patrician antipatrikios , . Sumbat had a residence at Artanuji modern Ardanu , Turkey , which towards the end of the 9th century began to develop into a thriving trading centre. Hence comes his territorial epithet Artanujeli , i.e., of Artanuji . Sumbat is referred to as the Great by Constantine VII Constantine Porphyrogenitus , author of De Administrando Imperio , where his name is rendered as Symbatius. Apart from Klarjeti, Sumbat must also have possessed Adjara and Livana Nigali , since the latter two appear among the possessions of his son David Mampali David died 943 . Sumbat also had a younger son Bagrat Mampali Bagrat died 900 . The Art Museum of Georgia in Tbilisi possesses a late 9th century reliquary cross whose donation inscription refers to Khosrovanush, wife of Sumbat, and her sons Bagrat and David. 1. Hermenegild II

for the later bishop of Lugo Hermenegild II Bishop of Lugo Hermenegild II floruit 899 922 was an auxiliary bishop or coadjutor of the Diocese of Oviedo during the episcopates of Gomelo II , Flacinus , and Oveco Bishop of Oviedo Oveco . He was long mistaken for a senior bishop, as by Carlos Gonz lez de Posada, who interposed his episcopate in that of Oveco for the years 915 22, and Manuel Risco , who placed it in 921 26. The earliest reference to Hermenegild as a bishop of Oviedo probably dates to 899. In that Alfonso III of Asturias , who kept his capital at Oviedo, founded the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela temple of Santiago in a church council held at Oviedo. The acts of the council are preserved in the Tumbo Nuevo of Lugo Cathedral , and Hermenegild s name is attached to them. Their date, however, is controversial. A date of 14 June 927 that comes down to us in one copy of the acta is certainly false, as Alfonso III was long dead at the time, but the alternative date of 7 May 899 provided by another copy is consistent with the names of all signatories of the acta . ref Antonio Palomeque Torres 1948 , Episcopologio de la Sede de Oviedo durante el siglo X, Hispania sacra , 1 2, 281. ref Hermenegild s name appears on a document dated 27 May 912 in the Libro de los testamentos , but it is probably a falsification of Pelagius of Oviedo Bishop Pelagius . ref Palomeque Torres, 276 ref The next reliable document mentioning Hermenegild dates from 8 August 921, also preserved in the Libro . ref Palomeque Torres, 280 ref He next signs a document of Ordo o II , whereby the king confirmed that certain belongings of a monk named Fousos that had been promised to the monastery of Lourenz but had not been given over because of Fousos sudden death should be handed over promptly. ref Palomeque Torres, 282 ref Notes reflist Category Bishops of Oviedo ...   more details

E. first Peters title Aristotle and the Arabs The Aristotelian Tradition in Islam year 1968 publisher New York University Press page 159 ref Al Sarakhsi was killed by Caliph Al Mu tadid because, according to an anecdote preserved in Yaqut al Hamawi s Mu jam al Udaba , he had urged the caliph towards apostasy. Al Biruni reports in his Chronology that al Sarakhsi had written books in which he denounced prophecy and ridiculed the prophets, whome he styled charlatans. However, Rosenthal has disputed the historicity of the stories that claim al Sarakhsi was executed for heretical beliefs. ref cite book last McKinney first Robert C. title The case of rhyme versus reason Ibn al R m and his poetics in context year 2004 publisher Brill location Leiden isbn 90 04 13010 1 page 27 ref References Reflist Islamic philosophy Persondata NAME Al Sarakhsi, Ahmad ibn al Tayyib ALTERNATIVE NAMES SHORT DESCRIPTION DATE OF BIRTH PLACE OF BIRTH DATE OF DEATH 899 PLACE OF DEATH Category 899 deaths Category Muslim philosophers Category Medieval Arab philosophers Category Commentators on Aristotle Category 9th century philosophers Category Medieval Islamic travel writers Category Muslim historians Category 9th century historians ar fa ...   more details
