ACpowerflowmodel is a model used in electrical engineering to analyze power grids . It provides a Nonlinear Nonlinear systems nonlinear system which describes the energy flow through each transmission line. Due to nonlinearity, in many cases the analysis of large network via ACpowerflowmodel is not feasible, and a linear but less accurate DC powerflowmodel is used instead. Both of those models are very crude approximations to reality. expert date July 2010 Macroscopic traffic flowmodel is a mathematical model that formulates the relationships among traffic flow characteristics like density, flow, mean speed of a traffic stream etc. Such models are conventionally arrived at, by integrating microscopic traffic flow models and converting the single entity level characteristics to comparable system level characteristics. Traffic models are usually made to employ them in computer aided simulations. The method of modeling traffic flow at macroscopic level originated under an assumption that traffic streams as a whole are comparable to fluid streams. The first major step in macroscopic modeling of traffic was taken by Lighthill and Whitham in 1955, when they indexed the comparability of traffic flow on long crowded roads with flood movements in long rivers . A year later, Richards 1956 complemented the idea with introduction of shock waves on the highway in an identical approach. Thus came into existence the LWR model. Since the legendary work, traffic flow modeling has found itself amidst vigorous progressive research. Macroscopic modeling may be primarily classified according to the type of traffic as homogeneous and heterogeneous, and further with respect to the order of the mathematical model. A Unified PowerFlow Controller or UPFC is an electricity electrical device for providing fast acting reactive power compensation on high voltage Electric power transmission electricity transmission networks. It uses a pair of three phase controllable bridges to produce current that is injected into a transmission line using a series transformer. The controller can control active and reactive power flows in a transmission line. The UPFC uses solid state devices, which provide functional flexibility, generally not attainable by conventional thyristor controlled systems. The UPFC is a combination of a static synchronous compensator STATCOM and a static synchronous series compensator SSSC coupled via a common DC voltage link. Isothermal flow is a model of Compressible flow compressible fluid flow whereby the flow remains at the same temperature while flowing in a conduit. ref Shapiro, A.H., The Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Compressible Fluid Flow, Volume 1 , Ronald Press, 1953. ref In the model, heat transferred through the walls of the conduit is offset by frictional heating back into the flow. Although the flow temperature remains constant, a change in stagation temperature occurs because of a change in velocity. The interesting part of this flow is that the flow is choked at math 1 sqrt k math and not at Mach number equal to one as in the case of many other model such as Fanno flow . This fact applies to real gases as well as ideal gases. For an important practical case of a gas flow throw a long tube the model has an applicability in situations which occurs in a relatively long distance and where heat transfer is relatively rapid so that the temperature can be treated, for engineering purposes, as a constant. This model has also applicability as upper boundary to Fanno flow . Positive displacement flow meters accumulate a fixed volume of fluid and then count the number of times the volume is filled to measure flow. Other flow measurement methods rely on forces produced by the flowing stream as it overcomes a known constriction, to indirectly calculate flow. Flow may ... flow can be measured in volumetric flow rate volumetric or mass flow rate s, such as liters ... content, such as the sale of natural gas , the flow rate may also be expressed in terms of energy flow, such as GJ hour or BTU day. The energy flow rate is the volume flow rate multiplied by the energy content per unit volume or mass flow rate multiplied by the energy content per unit mass. Where accurate energy comes to the time of the legit flow rate is desired, most flow meters will be used to calculate the volume or mass flow rate which is then adjusted to the energy flow rate by the use of a flow computer . In engineering contexts, the volume tric flow rate is usually given the symbol math Q math , and the mass flow rate, the symbol math dot m math . Gas Gases are compressible and change ... will be made to actual flow rate through a meter and standard or base flow rate through a meter ... , LFM linear feet per minute , or MSCFD thousands of standard cubic feet per day .
