  1. Ba`alat Gebal

unreferenced date December 2011 Fertile Crescent myth Levantine Ba alat Gebal , Lady of Byblos , was the goddess of the city of Byblos, sometimes known to the Greeks as Baaltis . She was generally identified with the pan Semitic goddess Astarte Ashtart and so equated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite . However Sanchuniathon equates her with the Greek goddess Dione mythology Dione and presents her as a sister of Ashtart Aphrodite and Rhea mythology Rhea who is probably Asherah , all three being wives of El god El . He says she bore daughters to El and that it was El who gave the city of Byblos to Baaltis who is also called Dione. Ba alat Gebal was distinguished in iconography from Ashtart or other aspects of Ashtart or similar goddesses by two, tall, upright feathers in her headdress. The temple of Ba al Gebal in Byblos was built around 27th century BC 2700 BC . Dedications from Egyptians begin appearing from the 2nd to 6th dynasties. 1. Advanced load address table

Orphan date February 2009 The advanced load address table ALAT is a functional unit in the Intel Itanium processor architecture. It is implemented with an associative memory dn date August 2011 . The ALAT is used to store information related to advance load instructions, as part of the speculative execution process. An advanced load is a method aimed in reducing the latency of costly load operations. If there is a possibility that a data item will be required, the program may specify its advanced load, even before the confirmation that the item will be needed. In the Itanium architecture, this advanced load order may be issued by an ld.a instruction. This instruction allocates an entry in the advanced load address table and starts the data transfer. The ALAT is used to identify the address from where the data will be read, the length of the required data block, the destination register and the state of the load operation. The success of the advanced load may then be checked with a ld.c or chk.a instruction that looks for the related information in the ALAT. The ALAT in the original Itanium processor was implemented by a two way set associative memory with 32 entries. In the Itanium 2 , this unit was changed to a 32 entries fully associative structure. This design required extra hardware elements longer memory tags, and more tag digital comparator comparators but it improved performance of speculative programs since cache miss due to mapping conflicts is avoided. 1. Staley Field

Staley Field in Decatur, Illinois was the home of the Chicago Bears Decatur Staleys club of the American Professional Football Association in 1920, coached and managed by the young George Halas . Modern convention has tended to label this club the Decatur Staleys . The team was owned by the A. E. Staley A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company , for which Staley Field was the company athletic field. According to Michael Benson s Ballparks of North America , the field was located at Eldorado and 22nd Streets. In fact, the Staley company s own address is 2200 East Eldorado Street, so presumably Staley Field occupied a piece of the company s grounds. It was also used by the Decatur entry in the Three I League in 1915. The Staley company sold the team to Halas and his partners, who transferred the team to Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois in 1921. As part of the deal, they operated under the Staley name for one more season. They proceeded to win the APFA championship that season. For 1922, they renamed themselves the Chicago Bears in order to associate themselves with their landlords. The APFA was also renamed that year, to the National Football League . 1. Home Plate Farm

coord 42.389081 71.450776 type landmark region US MA display title Home Plate Farm is located on 558 Dutton Road in Sudbury, Massachusetts . It was the home of baseball legend Babe Ruth from 1922 to 1926. Ruth sold it to Herb Atkinson who established Sudbury Laboratories on the site. It was in this neighborhood that the celebrated but possibly apocryphal 1918 incident occurred when Ruth supposedly threw a piano into a pond to demonstrate his strength. Another urban legend concerning the site revolves around a teenaged boy, Lee Gavin, who was struck by a batted ball during an August 31, 2004 baseball game at Fenway Park between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Angels . Gavin lived at the Home Plate Farm site, and this incident is supposed to have presaged the Red Sox winning the World Series later in 2004, thus ending Curse of the Bambino the Curse of the Bambino . The Red Sox won the game 10 7 while the New York Yankees lost 22 0 to the Cleveland Indians on the same night.
