Most animals use limbs for animal locomotion locomotion , such as walking , running , or climbing . Some animals can use their front limbs or upper limbs in humans to carry and manipulate objects. Some animals can also use hind limbs for manipulation. In the human body, the upper limb upper and lower limb s are commonly called the arm s and the Human leg legs . Human legs and foot feet are specialised for two legged locomotion most other mammals walking walk and running run on all four limbs. It rises at the village of Ringinglow , flowing east through Whirlow and Ecclesall Woods into Abbeydale in the Beauchief area, where it merges with the River Sheaf . Near this point part of the stream has been diverted to provide the Leat goit for the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet millpond, and this channel flows through what is now Beauchief Gardens . History Limb Brook lies entirely within the Sheffield City of Sheffield boundaries, but used to form with the connecting River Sheaf and Meers Brook part of the border between Yorkshire and Derbyshire. This boundary dates back to the Anglo Saxon England Anglo Saxon kingdoms of Mercia and Northumbria . Roger Limb is a British composer, specialising in electronic music . He is best known for his work on the television series Doctor Who whilst at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop . He joined the BBC as a studio manager, before going on to become a television announcer. In 1972 he left this position to join the Radiophonic Workshop, where he remained until 1995. Although he had received formal music training, he also spent much time in pop and jazz bands, the influence of which can be heard in much of his music. Limb is best known for his work on Doctor Who , for which, between 1981 and 1985, he composed the music for the serials The Keeper of Traken , Four to Doomsday , Black Orchid Doctor Who Black Orchid , Time Flight , Arc of Infinity , Terminus Doctor Who Terminus , The Caves of Androzani and Revelation of the Daleks .
