Tofy Mussivand lang fa , born in Hamedan is an Iran ian physician and engineer and a cardiologist in Canada. He studied Medicine and Engineering at Tehran University and University of Alberta . Tofy Mussivand is known for the invention of Artificial Cardiac Pump. Cardiac pump or cardiac bypass pump or heart lung machine temporarily takes over the function of breathing and pumping blood for a patient. It generally has two parts, the pump and the aerator. Cardiac pumps are most often used in heart surgery, so that a patient s heart can be disconnected from the body for longer than the twenty minutes or so it takes a prepared patient to die. Mussivand received his undergraduate education and training in engineering and management. Following many successful years in senior positions in Canadian government, crown corporations, and the private sector, Dr. Mussivand went on to receive his doctorate in Medical Engineering and Medical Sciences at the University of Akron and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Thereafter, Mussivand joined the Cleveland Clinic Hospital and Research Foundation where he gained knowledge and experience in the development of medical devices, artificial hearts, and cardiac care. In 1989, Mussivand was invited to return to Canada to continue his pioneering work in medical devices. The conductivity conductive and resistivity resistive properties of water are employed to carry electric current. During the working of boiler,it is fed with water which always contain substances like salts. While the departing steam is free of these substances,so conductivity of water goes on increasing as cleaner the water,lower is the conductivity. When conductivity goes beyond certain limit,some of the water must be blown down and replaced with fresh water. The most common type of electrode boiler pumps water from the lower part of the vessel to an internal header that has nozzles that allow the water to flow to electrodes. The electrodes are connected to a high voltage A.C. source typically 6,600 volts to 13,800 volts . Electrode boiler can work on both Single phase and Three phase supply. Generally the working pressure is maintained at 10 bar. If more pressure is needed more steam the controls speed up the pump and flow more water through additional nozzles.
