The Quakers Act 1695 was an Act of Parliament Act of the Parliament of England . The Act allowed Religious Society of Friends Quakers to substitute an affirmation where the law required an oath except in giving evidence in a criminal case or serve on a jury or hold any office of profit from the Crown. The Act also allowed legal proceedings to be taken against Quakers before a Justice of the Peace for refusing to pay tithes if it did not exceed 10.
