Duttweiler was born in Z rich . Starting with five vehicles in 1925, his Migros eventually opened stores and is today one of the main grocery chains in Switzerland . The original secret to his success was bringing daily necessities to the consumer by excluding the middlemen. As a result, many producers initially chose to boycott Migros, and Duttweiler s Migros would itself manufacture or package those missing products. In 1941 Gottlieb and his wife Adele Duttweiler transferred ownership of Migros to their customers, as a cooperative . Duttweiler also required that Migros contribute a percentage of profits actual from the total revenue to cultural, athletic, and hobby related activities. one source date March 2012 no footnotes date March 2012 Image Gottlieb wilhelm rabener.jpg thumb Gottlieb Wilhelm Rabener Gottlieb Wilhelm Rabener September 17, 1714 &ndash March 22, 1771 , was a Germany German writer of prose satire s. He was born at Wachau near Leipzig , and died at Dresden . In 1741 he made his debut as satirist in Schwabe s Belustigungen des Verstandes und Witzes , and was subsequently a contributor to the Bremer Beitrage . Rabener s satires are mainly levelled at the follies of the middle classes. The papers which he published in the Bremer Beitrage were subsequently collected in a Sammlung satirischer Schriften 2 vols., 1751 , to which two volumes were added in 1755. Rabener is especially notorious for his parodic dissertation, Hinkmars von Repkow Noten Ohne Text , which levels a snide charge against the futility and bankruptcy of the practice of footnoting, by consisting entirely of footnotes itself. Rabener cavalierly claimed that since footnotes and endnotes seemed to have become the key to winning lasting authorial fame, he had accordingly composed his dissertation entirely in notes, and left it to others to produce the text he had annotated proleptically. Orphan date February 2009 Cleanup date November 2008 Fritz Baumgarten 1883 1966 was a Germany German illustrator . He illustrated countless children s books in light pen works, coloured richly and very painterly with watercolours. His style was very modern, loose and impressionistic, but still with strong roots in life drawing, animals drawing and academic composition. His fantasy world was populated with temperate forests animals, elves and fairies, farm animals, children and teddy bears. His whole work has a definite feeling of possible, of real, of lived through scenes, almost down to earth, while at the same time being totally free floating in imagination, almost psychedelic.
