The Poqueira and the Trev lez join shortly before the confluence with the C diar near the town of rgiva .     Alpujarras cheese is a Spain Spanish cheese from the eastern region of Andalusia . which includes the provinces of Granada , Almer a and the Penib tica mountain chain. The cheese takes its name from La Alpujarra or Las Alpujarras , a mountainous region which occupies a part of southern Granada province and western Almeria province. This area has a long history and tradition of goatherding. Alpujarras cheese is made from the milk of the White Andalusian domesticated goat . ref name Quesos http www.queseros.com category quesos de espana andalucia ref The cheese is made as a fresh or matured variety and is classified as fatty to extra fatty. The presentation of the mature cheese is in the form of cylinders, rather wider than they are high. The rind faces are usually marked with patterns of flowers and the sides with lines, which are intended to simulate the imprint of rushes, including the authorising mark of the protected designation of origin Protected Designation of Origin P.D.O. . The cheese is sold in pieces of between 500g 1000gm. if fresh, and up to 2  kg if cured. ref name Quesos Manufacturing Process Made from fresh milk which is aromatic and high in fats, the milk is pasteurised if used for fresh cheese but left raw if used for cured cheese. The milk is curdled with rennet from young goats which gives the best result and gives the final cheese the best possible qualities. The milk is heated to 30 32 C and the rennet is added. The coagulation takes between 30 and 45 minutes but can sometimes take up to two hours. During the Italian War of 1521 , he commanded Pavia during the siege of the city by Francis I of France , and took part in the Battle of Pavia in 1525. After the death of Fernando de Avalos , he held further commands in Italy during the War of the League of Cognac and afterwards, finally dying shortly after attempting an invasion of Provence . Belonging to a family from Navarre he made his military debut in the Alpujarras 1502 during the struggle against the revolting Mud jar es from Granada and later served in Italy under the Gonzalo Fern ndez de C rdoba Gran Capit n 1503 1504 . He had a prominent part in the Italian Wars and was wounded at the Battle of Ravenna 1512 battle of Ravenna 1512 . Later on, under the Fernando de Avalos Marquis of Pescara , he fought near Milan and in the unlucky campaign of Provence in 1524. After this failure he had the post of commander of the garrison of Pavia and here sustained the long siege from the French army led by Francis I of France King Francis I October 1524 February 1525 which gave time to the Spanish and Imperial forces to reorganize and to win the famous Battle of Pavia 1525 battle of Pavia . In 1525 he succeeded to the Marquis of Pescara as commander in chief of the Imperial army in the Duchy of Milan and in 1535, when the last Sforza Duke of Milan, Francesco II Sforza Francesco II , died he was appointed by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor Emperor Charles V Governor of Milan. He died of gout during the campaign of Provence in 1536 but was buried in Milan in the now destroyed church of San Dionigi.
