    Other uses Annapolis Convention disambiguation The Annapolis Convention was a meeting in 1786 at Annapolis, Maryland , of 12 delegates from five states New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia that unanimously called for a constitutional convention political meeting constitutional convention . The formal title of the meeting was a Meeting of Commissioners to Remedy Defects of the Federal Government . Long dissatisfied with the weak Articles of Confederation, Alexander Hamilton of New York played a major leadership role. He drafted its resolution for a constitutional convention, and in doing so brought his longtime desire to have a more powerful, more financially independent federal government one step closer to reality. ref Richard B. The basin measures approximately convert 24 km northeast southwest and convert 6 km at its widest from northwest to southeast. Activities for enVISIONing Annapolis ran from 2007 through 2008. The organization backing the process, the EnVISIONing Annapolis Foundation , was formed solely for this purpose. Important contributors and co sponsors include the University of Maryland, College Park University of Maryland , Annapolis Charter 300 , and St. John s College United States St. Johns College . The primary organizers of the project included MS&R Architects Garth Rockcastle and Troy Urman , Miriam Gusevich, and Glenn Smith.
