CMCSS educates children in 36 schools in the district one K 5 Magnet School, 20 elementary, 7 middle, 7 high, and one Middle College. It employs about 3,900 teachers, administrators and support staff. The system operates 7 area high schools in addition to Middle College which is a select environment on the campus of Austin Peay State University that allows high school juniors to take one university course for credit. High school seniors may take two courses for credit.
