Colin Campbell succeeded his grandfather Duncan Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell in 1453, and was created Earl of Argyll in 1457 and Lord Lorne in 1470, after the resignation of his wife s uncle Walter Stewart, 3rd Lord Lorne , who became Lord Innermeath . Archibald Brabazon Sparrow Acheson, 4thEarl of Gosford Order of St. Patrick KP 2 August 1841 11 April 1922 was a United Kingdom British Peer. The son of Archibald Acheson, 3rd Earl of Gosford , he succeeded to the earldom upon the death of his father in 1864. Since there are two United Kingdom peerages subsumed in that Irish Earldom, he was entitled to an automatic seat in the House of Lords . He was Lord Lieutenant of Armagh from 1883 to 1920. Gosford died in London in 1922.
