It was completed in 2002 and has 24 floors and an outdoor swimming pool on the roof. It is the 16th tallest building in Charlotte, and is the tallest building outside of downtown. It was originally planned to be convert 425 ft m 0 abbr on and 42 stories tall when announced in September 1997, but it was scaled back because the developer was unable to secure the financing required to build a 425 foot 130 m building. Because the building is located outside the Interstate 277 North Carolina I 277 inner loop, the apartments on the city side of the building have a fantastic view of the Charlotte skyline. It was established in 1973 with the goal of providing the city with a professional live theater. The once small theatre has since become a large 199 seat building providing entertainment and education.
