Having returned home to Rathleigh House near Macroom , County Cork Cork , Ireland , Art refused to sell his prize winning horse to Englishman Abraham Morris, and was thus made an outlaw. Under the Penal Laws Ireland Penal Laws of Ireland , Roman Catholics were obliged by law to sell their horse for no more than 5, irrespective of the animal s true often considerably greater value, to Protestants if requested to do so. In 1792, she married S amus de B rca, a Skibbereen horsetrader and the couple settled on a holding they purchased near C im an Fhia Keimaneigh, living in some prosperity. Career She was illiterate but her songs and poems survived via the oral folk tradition of the area, as did compositions by her contemporaries such as Antoine Raifteiri . Since its humble beginnings in 1998, it has become one of the leading arts festivals in Australia dedicated to the work and ideas of communities not included in other major Australian arts festivals. The program includes the festivals Electrofringe , the National Young Writers Festival , Critical Animals , Sound Summit the Crack Theatre Festival and other projects. Naming This Is Not Art takes its name from a prominent piece of graffiti on what was Newcastle s tallest building, Latec House now completely refurbished and converted to apartments , which had been derelict for several decades. The name also refers to the content of the event, which is outside the ambit of traditional Australian arts festivals. History This Is Not Art evolved from the National Young Writers Festival and National Student Media Conference which were established in Newcastle in September 1998. Still at the Grange a month later, Boycie despairs of ever getting rid of them, but they have a surprise in store as a mark of their gratitude, they have commissioned a renowned local artist, Genevieve Klunge, to paint his portrait.
