    Asclepiades c. 124 or 129 40 BC was a Ancient Greek medicine Greek physician born at Cius Prusa in Bithynia in Asia Minor and flourished at Rome , where he established Greek medicine near the end of the 2nd century BCE. He attempted to build a new theory of disease , based on the flow of atoms through pores in the body. His treatments sought to restore harmony through the use of Diet nutrition diet , exercise , and bathing . Life Asclepiades was born in Cius Prusias in Bithynia .     Etazeta Floruit fl. 255 BC 254 BC was the second wife of Nicomedes I of Bithynia Nicomedes I , king of Bithynia and a ruler of Bithynia. An ambitious woman, she was able to persuade her husband to exclude his sons by his former marriage from the throne instead it would go to Etazeta s children. Since these were still very young the king thought to strengthen the throne by offering the guardianship of the infants to the sovereigns Ptolemy II of Egypt and Antigonus II of Macedon ia also the city states of Byzantium , Heraclea Pontica Heraclea and Cius were added to the guardianship. At the death of Nicomedes I around 255 BC, she ruled on behalf of her infant sons. However, Nicomedes first born, Ziaelas of Bithynia Ziaelas , refused to accept his father s decision and started a war against the stepmother to conquer the kingdom. After Nicomedes I died, his second wife Etazeta became ruler on behalf of her infant sons. The grown up Ziaelas, excluded from the throne, had previously fled to Armenia and taken refuge at the court of King Arsames I in Sophene. On his father s death he immediately endeavoured to regain his rights by force, he returned, aided by some Galatia ns.     Auxentius of Bithynia was a hermit born circa AD 400 in Syria , and died February 14, 473, on Mount Scopas. Auxentius was in the Equestrian Roman Equestrian Guard of Roman Emperor Theodosius II , but left to become a solitary monk on Mount Oxia near Constantinople . He was accused of heresy but was exonerated at the Council of Chalcedon . Afterward he returned to his Hermitage religious retreat hermitage atop Mount Scopas, in Bithynia , not far from Chalcedon . This mountain is today called Kay da in the Kadik y subprovince of Istanbul, the seat of Yeditepe University . The hill s thickly wooded and no remains from the late Roman period have been identified. He is not to be confused with Saint Auxentius of Mopsuestia d. 360 , bishop and martyr, and an Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic saint, Auxentius of Milan d. 374 , bishop of Milan , or Auxentius of Durostorum .
