History McCrary Park was built in the late 1940s for the McCrary Eagles, a semi professional team sponsored by the Acme McCrary Corporation, which is still in existence today manufacturing women s hosiery products. The first railroad built by the Pages, known as the Aberdeen and West End Railroad , had been a logging railroad since about 1887. It was extended from Aberdeen to Star, North Carolina Star , NC and was completed in 1895.
