Tourism in Balochistan, Pakistan is an undersized industry compared to other sectors of the Economy of Balochistan, Pakistan Balochistani economy yet has a productive potential. Geographically lying on the Iranian plateau and part of the greater Balochistan region to the west and inhabited by the Iranic Baloch people , Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan in terms of area although also the most sparsely populated with its mountaneous terrains and vast deserts. It borders Iran to the west and Afghanistan to the north, while the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Punjab, Pakistan Punjab and Sindh lie to the north, north east and east respectively. The province also lies in close proximity to the nearby Arab states of the Persian Gulf and strategically bridges West Asia and the greater Middle East region with Central Asia and South Asia . To the south, Balochistan meets the Arabian Sea and occupies a significant length of the total coastline of Pakistan. Quetta is the capital city of Balochistan and an important cultural centre in the region with its diverse landmarks the port of city of Gwadar is a quickly developing town that aims to serve as a key hub of future industrial and shipping activity.
