  1. Peter Bander van Duren

    Unreferenced date January 2007 Peter Bander van Duren Cologne , 30 July 1930 21 April 2004 was a United Kingdom British expert on heraldry and orders of knighthood. Dr. Peter Bander became a British citizen in 1962 and changed his name in 1976 by deed poll to Peter Bander van Duren adding the name of his mother von Duren in an altered form to his father s name. Dr. Peter Bander van Duren worked as a teacher in a borstal and in a school in deprived part of Islington. Later he became co director of Colin Smythe, a small UK publishing house. The Catholic Peter Bander van Duren was the author of several books on heraldry, some of them in co paration with Bruno Bernard Heim or Archbishop Hygenius Eugene Cardinale the Apostolic Delegate in the United Kingdom.     Max Hugo Weigold 27 May 1886 9 July 1973 was a Germany German zoology zoologist and a pioneer bird ringing bird bander who established the Heligoland Bird Observatory , one of the world s first. Weigold was born in Dresden . He studied natural sciences and geography in University of Jena Jena and University of Leipzig Leipzig . He worked for the Scientific Commission for Marine Research in Heligoland , a German island in the North Sea , where he specialized in bird migration , setting up the bird observatory in 1910 to trap and band the migratory birds passing through the island. For six years Weigold carried out zoological research in China and Tibet and was the first Westerner to see a live Giant Panda in the wild, buying a cub which did not survive for long while part of the Walther St tzner Stoetzner Expedition in 1916. He later became Director of Natural Sciences at the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover . He died in Bruckberg, Lower Bavaria . The tribe has an estimated population of about 2.5 million hence, making it one of the largest tribes in Afghanistan , where it is based . The Kharoti live in almost all parts of Afghanistan, however, the main area where the Kharoti tribesmen reside is Loya Paktia . Their traditional heartland is the Afghan province Paktika . They live in and around Kohistan District, Afghanistan Kohistan . In the East, they range from Katta to Koh e Sulaiman to Barmal. Another area of large Kharoti population is Urgun , where they are accompanied by the Furmali and Zadran , as well as the T jik people Tajiks and Uzbeks Uzbek People. Their tribal rivals are the Wazir Tribe Waziris and Furmalis, both of whom believe the Furmali area belongs to them. Despite having a common Ghilzai origin, the much larger and more powerful Suleimankhel super tribe are the Kharoti s traditional rivals. The majority of Kharoti tribesmen are associated with businesses in overseas countries in Europe , United States America , Saudi Arabia , United Arab Emirates and in Karachi , Pakistan where they have carpets and fabrics businesses. The Kharoti tribe is one of first Pashtun tribes to have their own organizations in Pakistan. There are two such NGO s, The Kharoti Committee, led by Haji Juma Gul Khan, which helps the poor in Sar Hawza , Paktika and the Kharoti Welfare Association, led by Haji Ameer Gul. The most prominent figures of the Kharoti tribe include Gulbuddin Hekmatyar , Farhad Darya , Gholam Serwar Nasher , Rahman Kharoti, Ustad Sayaf, Loy Sher Khan Bander and the late Mir Ahmad Khan Qader. Since April the 2nd, 2011, Naqibullah Shorish has been chosen by the elders as the main leader of the Kharoti tribe in all parts of Afghanistan.
