Unreferenced date April 2007 Spectral bands are part of optical spectra of polyatomic systems, including condensed materials, large molecules etc.. Each line corresponds to one level in the atom splits in the molecules. When the number of atoms is large, one gets a continuum of energy levels, the so called spectral bands . They are often labeled in the same way as the mono atomic lines. The bands may overlap. In general, the energy spectrum can be given by a density function, describing the number of energy levels of the quantum system for a given interval. Spectral bands have constant density, and when the bands overlap, the corresponding densities are added. Band spectra is the name given to a group of lines that are closely spaced and arranged in a regular sequence that appears to be a band. It is a colored band, separated by dark spaces on the two sides and arranged in a regular sequence. In one band, there are various sharp and wider color lines, that are closer on one side and wider on other. The intensity in each band falls off from definite limits and indistinct on the other side. In complete band spectra, there is a number lines in a band. This spectra is produced when the emitting substance is in the molecular state. Therefore they are also called molecular spectra. It is emitted by a molecule in vacuum tube , C arc core with metallic salt. Orphan date October 2008 A Pay band is sometimes used in salaried organizations to define the level of compensation given for certain jobs. Pay Bands sometimes also used as a broader term that encompasses several pay levels, ranges or grades is a part of an organized salary compensation plan, program or system. In an organization that has defined jobs, pay bands are used to distinguish the level of compensation given to certain ranges of jobs. For example, entry level positions at a landscaping company might include truck drivers and laborers. Those jobs and those of similar levels of responsibility might all be included in a named or numbered pay band that prescribed a range of pay, e.g. Band 1 10 17 per hour . The next level classification of a group of similar jobs would include increased responsibility, and thus a higher pay band e.g. Band 2 13 21 per hour . Organizing pay structures in a pay band manner allows for overall control at the management level of an organization, while still giving some discretion for supervisors to reward good performance, and keeping within a reasonable compensation budget structure. The War of the Bands lang eu Bando gerrak , lang es Guerra de los Bandos was a civil war , really an extended series of blood feud s, in the western Basque Country historical territory Basque Country part of Kingdom of Castile Castile , Duchy of Gascony Gascony , and Kingdom of Navarre Navarre in the Late Middle Ages . The main primary source for the War is Las Bienandan as e fortunas by Lope Garc a de Salazar , written c .1471. The war is named after the aristocratic networks of familial alliances and their armed followings, known as bandos bands , that carried out constant wars for power and honour across three kingdoms. The wars ceased only with the imposition of royal authority under Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile Isabella of Castile , the Catholic Monarchs . The wars resulted partly from the destabilising effect of the Castilian Civil War and the ensuing political weakness of the House of Trast mara . That the Seniory of Biscay effectively ceased to exist after 1370 and was subsumed in 1379 into Castile only exacerbated the effects of political anarchy on Biscay. The rise of the towns, notably Bilbao and Bermeo , caused jockeying for municipal power between the rich urban families. The landed nobility, enfeoffed in the heavily encastellated countryside, nursed feuds that dated back centuries. The Ligizamon and Zamudiano had been enemies since 1270. Many minor noble families were caught in the feuds of the great families by ties of marriage. In 1362, in the early stage of the conflicts, the Ligizamon and Zurbar n families fought a battle in the streets of Bilbao. They battled again in the market of Bermeo in 1413. Thereafter until 1433 the fighting between the two bands continued without a truce. The Vasurta, who had been enemies of the Ligizamon over the rights to a salmon, fought on the side of the Zurbar n. The urban warfare was less fatal than the pitched battles often fought in the countryside only five men died in a fracas in Bilbao in 1440 ... more details
