Their partnership was dissolved in 1852 and Bartram s son Robert Appleby Bartram shipbuilder Robert Appleby Bartram was taken into the business. On his father s retirement in 1871, Robert went into partnership with George Haswell to establish Bartram, Haswell & Co at South Dock, Sunderland. Haswell retired in 1889 and Robert Appleby Bartram s sons, George and William, joined the firm now known as Bartram & Sons. The firm became a limited company in 1922. Neil Bartram is a composer lyricist and the recipient of a Dramatists Guild Jonathan Larson Fellowship, a 2005 Jonathan Larson Foundation Award, and was a finalist for the 2007 Fred Ebb Award. He wrote the music and lyrics for Somewhere In The World which ran for 5 seasons at the Charlottetown Festival and spawned a cast album , and The Nightingale and the Rose.
