  1. Baton sinister

Image Batonsinister.jpg right thumbnail A baton sinister. Baton sinister is a charge heraldry charge used in heraldry . Heraldic charge It is a diminutive of the Bend heraldry bend sinister and constitutes a narrow strip that runs from the upper right to the lower left of a coat of arms . Sinister meaning left in Latin is merely a directional indicator. It is commonly believed to be an indicator of an illegitimate birth in the family line, and is used in this way in literary contexts. For example, the hero of John Buchan s historical novel, John Burnet of Barns, set in the sixteenth century, on being told that he is the son of Lady Eleanor Percy, was reassured that there is no bar sinister on your shield. You were born in lawful wedlock, a second son. However, in medieval England, there was no single mark of difference for bastardy. Until the late fourteenth century, the same marks of cadency were used for both illegitimate and legitimate children, but thereafter the arms of some bastards took the form of a plain or party field with their fathers arms on a figure such as a bend, fess, chief, chevron or quarter. ref A Wagner, Medieval Heraldry in A L Poole ed. Medieval England vol 1 Oxford 1958 pp. 363 8 ref The baton sinister can be seen in the arms of the Duke of Grafton , descended from an illegitimate son of King Charles II of England . Today, the College of Arms in England uses a bordure Line heraldry Wavy and nebuly wavy to mark an armiger as illegitimate. The Court of the Lord Lyon in Scotland uses a bordure compone gobony to denote the same. Bar sinister In French wiktionary blazon blazon a bend sinister is called a barre . In addition, BATON tries to keep the tree in a balanced manner as the Avl tree AVL tree . And hence, the search cost is bounded by O logN . Architecture Image Baton.JPG right 500px BATON Overlay BATON is a binary tree. Each node in BATON keeps four kinds of links link to its parent node links to its child nodes links to its adjacent nodes in in order links to the routing nodes in the same level In each tree level, the node is named by its position in the tree. For example, node h is named 3 0, node i is named 3 1 and node p is named 4 6. For a node at position p, it will fill its left routing table by nodes at position p 2 sup x sup for any valid math x geq 0 math and fill its right routing table by nodes at position p 2 sup y sup for any valid math y geq 0 math . Node Joining and Leaving The new node s joining request will always be forwarded to the leaf node. The leaf node will check to see whether it routing table is full. If the routing table is full, this level is full of nodes and the leaf node can accept the new node as its child to create a new level node. Otherwise, it must forward the new node to take over one of the empty positions. When a node wants to leave ... a leaf node to replace its position. Routing In BATON, each node maintains a continuous key space .... That s why BATON supports range queries. For a range query q, BATON first locats its left bound, q.low. ... bound, q.up. For locating a single key, BATON performs the similar routing strategy as Chord ... position for itself by continuing to its right adjacent node. Load Balancing BATON adopts two kinds ... It shows Bugs conducting an orchestra with a fly bothering him. Bugs conducts, and in part, plays the overture to Ein Morgen, ein Mittag und ein Abend in Wien A Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna , a composition by Franz von Supp . Though Mel Blanc was credited for vocal characterizations, there is no dialogue in the short the only vocal effect made was when an audience member is heard coughing. This is the second and last Bugs Bunny cartoon the first being A Corny Concerto where Bugs is silent. Or, nearly silent at one point, he shushes the brass. Plot Bugs is getting ready to conduct The Warner Bros. Symphony Orchestra supposedly in concert at the Hollywood Bowl fancily. When he finishes his elaborate preparation, he starts to Conducting conduct . However, several problems plague Bugs conducting, notably a bothersome fly, and some awkward cuffs that keep falling off. Bugs attempts to kill the fly, crashing into the orchestra and the instruments as he does so. As the music comes to a stop, Bugs bows for the crowd, and instead of applause, hears only silence and cricket insect cricket s chirping. Bugs looks around to see that the seats are empty and the crowd has gone, though he does hear some faint clapping coming from ...   more details

  1. Charge number

Charge number or just valance ref Dynamic Systems in Neuroscience by Izhikevich ref of an ion is the coefficient that, when multiplied by the elementary charge , gives the ion s Electric charge charge . ref GoldBookRef title charge number, z file C00993 ref For example, the charge on a chloride ion, math mathrm Cl math , is math 1 cdot e math , where e is the elementary charge. This means the charge number for the ion is math 1 math . math z math is sometimes used as the symbol for the charge number. In that case, the charge of an ion could be written as math Q z e math . For an atomic nucleus , which can be regarded as an ion having stripped off all electrons, the charge number is identical with the atomic number Z number of proton s . In particle physics the charge number is a derived flavor quantum numbers flavour quantum number , mostly denoted by Q regarded as electric charge in units of e rather than z. For color charge d particles with like quark s and hypothetical leptoquark s the charge number is a broken multiple of 1 3. 1. Charge (physics)

About charge in the most general physics sense charge as relates to electrical phenomena electric charge other uses of charge Charge disambiguation Noref date September 2011 Charge is a quantity which is present in every body due to mass and mass contains atoms having electrons and protons and which shows some electrical characteristics. In physics , a charge may refer to one of many different quantities, such as the electric charge in electromagnetism or the color charge in quantum chromodynamics . Charges are associated with conserved quantum number s. Formal definition More abstractly, a charge ... of a conserved current . The thing that flows in the current is the charge , the charge is the generator of the local symmetry group. This charge is sometimes called the Noether charge . Thus, for example, the electric charge is the generator of the U 1 symmetry of electromagnetism . The conserved current is the electric current . In the case of local, dynamical symmetries, associated with every charge ... field and the gauge boson is the photon . Sometimes, the word charge is used as a synonym for generator ... of the root system accounting for the quantization of the charge.
