The Research Experiences for Undergraduates or REU program at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences BIOS is a competitive research program for college undergraduates that has been funded by the National Science Foundation since 1996. Unlike most REU programs, this one is based in Bermuda , rather than an institution within the United States. Students design and conduct independent research projects under faculty supervision.
