Refimprove date May 2009 TOC right Court bouillon or court bouillon is a flavored liquid for poaching food poaching or quick cooking foods. Traditional uses include poaching fish food fish and seafood , but it is also used for poaching vegetable s, egg food eggs , sweetbread s, Comb anatomy cockscomb s, and delicate meats. Background Court bouillon loosely translates as briefly boiled liquid French language French court or short broth because the cooking time is brief in comparison with a rich and complex Stock food stock , and generally is not served as part of the finished dish. Since delicate foods do not cook for very long, it is prepared before the foods are added. Typically, cooking times do not exceed 60 minutes. Although a court bouillon may become the base for a Stock food stock or fumet, in traditional terms it is differentiated by the inclusion of Acidulated water acidulating ingredients such as wine , vinegar , or lemon juice . In addition to contributing their own flavor, acids help to draw flavors from the vegetable aromatics during the short preparation time prior to use. Court bouillon also includes salt and lacks animal gelatin . Types Traditionally, court bouillon is water, salt , white wine , vegetable aromatics Mirepoix cuisine mirepoix of carrot, onion, and celery , and flavored with bouquet garni and black pepper . Court bouillon need not be elaborate. Court bouillon used to prepare lobster may be as simple as water, salt, lemon juice , and perhaps thyme and bay leaf that for poached eggs may be salt, water, and vinegar . Image Gules a fess argent.svg thumb right upright 0.6 Coat of arms of the lordship of Bouillon. The lordship of Bouillon was in the 10th and 11th century one of the core holdings of the Ardennes Bouillon dynasty , and appears to have been their original patrimonial possession. ref Murray, p. 10. ref The Bouillon estate was a collection of fief s, allodial land, and other rights. The collection included e.g. the allod villages of Bellevaux , Mogimont , Senseruth , and Assenois , the Advocatus advocacy of the monastery of Saint Hubert, Belgium Saint Hubert and Ardennes , and the land to the south of Bouillon, formerly the land of the abbey of Mouzon, now held as a fief of the Archbishop of Reims . During the 10th and 11th century, the lords of Bouillon also held, for shorter or longer periods, the Duke of Lower Lorraine Duchy of Lower Lorraine , Count of Verdun county of Verdun , margraviate of Antwerp , along with many lesser titles. List of the Lords of Bouillon It is difficult to draw an exact list of the Lords of Bouillon, as the Lordship did not automatically follow the better documented ducal and comital titles held by the dynasty. Since Bouillon is believed to be the patrimonial possession of the dynasty, one would believe the lordship was inherited by the oldest son ref In the case of Godfrey the Crusader, he was the second son of Godfrey the Hunchback s sister. He inherited his childless uncle, while the older brother Eustace inherited their father. ref . The Scramble Cube is under a series of variations known as the Okamoto Cubes. This puzzle is invented by Katsuhiko Okamoto . The Floppy Cube is the fourth Okamoto Cube. It is another 3x3x1 puzzle which is also known as Super Floppy Cube . Scramble Cube is not supposed to be messed up with Floppy Cube . Descriptions The Scramble Cube look nearly the same as Floppy Cube except that its center piece is shape like a diamond. The center piece does not bend when turning the rotating pieces unlike Floppy Cube. When the rotating pieces are twisted 90 , the rest of the cube are not locked, which means that the cube is able to change form, thus adding more fun to the cube compared to Floppy Cube. The cube is considered easy to solve, but it takes a bit more time to turn the cube back into its 3x3x1 form. Onesource date October 2011 In mathematics , a P multimagic cube is a magic cube that remains magic even if all its numbers are replaced by their k th power for 1 k P . Thus, a magic cube is bimagic when it is 2 multimagic, and trimagic when it is 3 multimagic, tetramagic when it is 4 multimagic. ref name Multi MathWorld id MultimagicCube ref A P multimagic cube is said to be semi perfect if the k th power cubes are perfect magic cube perfect for 1 k P , and the P th power cube is semiperfect magic cube semiperfect . If all P of the power cubes are perfect, the multimagic cube is said to be perfect. The first known example of a bimagic cube was given by John Hendricks in 2000 it is a semiperfect magic cube semiperfect cube of order 25 and magic constant 195325. In 2003, C. Image Impossible cube illusion angle.svg 200px thumb right Viewed from a certain angle, this cube appears to defy the laws of geometry. The impossible cube or irrational cube is an impossible object that draws upon the ambiguity present in a Necker cube illustration. An impossible cube is usually rendered as a Necker cube in which the edges are apparently solid beams. This apparent solidity gives the impossible cube greater visual ambiguity than the Necker cube, which is less likely to be perceived as an impossible object. The illusion plays on the human eye s interpretation of two dimensional pictures as three dimensional objects. Image Impossible cube different angle.png 200px thumb left Viewed from another angle, however, the non impossibility of the shape is apparent&mdash its cubic nature itself is an illusion. In M.C. Escher s lithograph Belvedere M. C. Escher Belvedere , the figure of a boy seated at the foot of the building is holding an impossible cube the rest of the scene is based on the same principle that makes the impossible cube. In the scene, a ladder from the inside of the first story leads to the outside of the second. However, this is not appreciated by the prisoner in the basement cell because the basement is a possible cuboid and he is unambiguously on the inside. A doctored photograph purporting to be of an impossible cube was published in the June 1966 issue of Scientific American , where it was called a Freemish Crate .
