    unreferenced date February 2009 Ong Keo led the Mon Khmer minorities in fighting the France French and Lao people Lao from 1901 to 1937. He was an Alak people Alak , born in Ban Paktai , Salavan Province . His father was a village chief. Ong Keo moved rapidly up the leadership ladder because of his charisma and intelligence, and because he was fluent in Lao language Lao and Pali language Pali . He performed religious ceremonies on Mount Tayun , which was close to his home village. He advocated that the foreigners be thrown out. His followers grew quickly and soon they began calling him Phu Mi Boun The Holy Mam and then Pha Ong Keo The Saint who possess the miraculous stone . He launched his rebellion in Thateng now Xekong Province Sekong Province in response to the destruction of the temple of Ban Nong Mek. This rebellion lasted six years before a truce could made. Phu Mi Boun never truly surrendered, but he was forced to stop the uprising based on bad conditions of his troops. He encouraged disciples such as Ong Kommandam to carry on his struggle. Boun Bang Fay One part of the Vixakha Bouxa festival is called Boun Bang Fay , or Rocket Festival . As this is during the hottest and driest season of the year, large homemade firework rocket s are launched into the sky in an attempt to convince the celestial beings to send down rain . Traditionally, Buddhist monks made the rockets out of hollow bamboo tubes filled with gunpowder among other things . Nowadays, lay people make the bang fai more like fireworks and hold competitions for the highest, fastest and most colorful rockets. Buddhism was the only thing that bound people together and taught people to be good people and stay away from doing wrong things in the past when the law enforcement was not in place. Early life Pholsena was born 18 November 1915, Pakse , Champasak Province Champasak to a Laotian Chinese Chinese merchant father and a Lao people Lao tian mother. ref Stieglitz 1990 , p. 75 ref As a teenager Pholsena lived in the household of Souvanna Phouma and was accepted as the adopted son of their household. With the backing of Prince Souvanna, Pholsena served various high level administrative ranks in the government, notably as the district officer of Pakse from 1949 to 1952 and then as the governor of Xam Neua . ref Stieglitz 1990 , p. 76 ref Life in Politics After the Coup of 1960, a coalition government was formed between neutralists, communists and rightists on 18 November 1960. History The Foundation nonprofit organization foundation Ried fan de Fryske Beweging was established in 1945 as an umbrella organisation for several smaller Frisian organisations It Selskip foar Fryske Tael en Skriftekennisse , It Kristlik Frysk Selskip , it Roomsk Frysk Boun and it Frysk Boun om Utens . The idea to have one organ to talk with governments, politicians and institutions came to life after World War II. One of the main objectives was legal recognition of the Frisian language within the Netherlands. The Netherlands Dutch government had created very little legislation concerning the Frisian language up to then. The umbrella structure allowed people to contribute to the effort as a whole as donors, or by joining one of the member organisations. The board of the Council is made up of representatives from each of the member organisations, as well as some board members who are chosen by the donors. Since 2005, the Ried fan de Fryske Beweging has drawn in further member organisations.
