The band s first album, recorded in just 10 days at HMV s Dumdum studio, Calcutta, in December 92. Shaleen Sharma played the drums on this album. This is the only album in which Shaleen Sharma was present, later when Shaleen Sharma left the band he was replaced by Amit Kilam. Released only on cassette. Recording Engineer for this album was Raja Mukherjee . Cover concept was done by Manas Chakrabarti. The Graphic Design work was done by Navin Shiromani. The Durgapal family gave Indian Ocean all their time, patience and space while Indian Ocean prepared for this recording. Sadly enough, no copies of this album are available for sale as of now and even the master recordings aren t there with HMV. The band members once told a fan that they too do not have any copies of this cassette and as a result this album is categorized as Lost by many.     The Indian Ocean Whale Sanctuary is an area in the Indian Ocean where the International Whaling Commission IWC has banned all types of commercial whaling. The IWC has at present designated two such sanctuaries, the other being the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary . Repeated proposals at the IWC for a South Atlantic Sanctuary and a South Pacific Sanctuary have never reached the 75 majority needed to pass. History The Indian Ocean Sanctuary was established by the IWC in 1979 after being proposed by the tiny island nation of the Seychelles , in its first meeting as an IWC member, partly in order to protect whales in their breeding grounds.
