Achairn Burn enters Wick River at Mary Ford, Wick River Mary Ford , about 10 kilometres to the northeast of the burn s source. Its entire course is within Caithness, as is the whole of the drainage basin catchment basin of Wick River. Between its source and Maryford the burn s course describes a sort of reversed S shape, flowing generally north, then turning east and east southeast before turning north again. On its banks the burn has Upper Achairn , Lower Achairn , Puldagon , and Haster . Between Upper Achairn and Lower Achairn the burn receives water from Allt Beag airighe Burn of the Small Shieling . June Burn 1893 1969 was an United States American author . June Burn was born Inez Chandler Harris on June 19, 1893 in Anniston, Alabama . Her father was a Methodist circuit riding minister. At age sixteen she moved to Oklahoma and eventually graduated from Oklahoma State University . In 1917 she started working as a staff writer for McCall s in New York . In 1919 she met and married Farrar Burn, a recent World War I veteran, while living outside of Washington, D.C. . Over the next fifty years, Farrar and June travelled extensively around the United States, homesteading in the San Juan Islands , teaching Eskimos and travelling across the United States in a covered wagon . She wrote extensively for various periodicals and wrote several books. The band was formed by John Garcia singer John Garcia of the influential stoner rock band Kyuss , which had split up months previously. Garcia was joined by Chris Hale on electric guitar , Damon Garrison on bass guitar and Brady Houghton on drum kit drums . In 1996 the band distributed a five song demotape, and in April 1997 released an Extended play EP entitled Amusing the Amazing through the record label Malicious Vinyl . According to interviews, Garcia claimed that the band also intended to record a full length album. Slo Burn toured with Ozzfest in 1997 but decided to split up in September, towards the end of the tour. John Garcia subsequently joined the equally short lived band Unida , before becoming vocalist with Hermano band Hermano , who have since recorded three studio albums. Slo Burn had a sound not dissimilar to that of latter day Kyuss, which can be attributed to Garcia s singing style and the production work of Chris Goss U.S. Chris Goss . It used to flow through the centre of the city into the River Tyne Tyne but was essentially used as an open sewer, particularly unpleasant since the meat markets backed onto it.
