Conrad Burr born November 23, 1968 in China Grove, North Carolina is a former NASCAR driver. He competed a limited schedule in the Craftsman Truck Series from 2000 2003. Burr made his debut in 2000, when he drove the Jim Rosenblum Racing Chevy into the field at Martinsville Speedway Martinsville . He started the event in 31st, but only managed 25th. Yet, he did finish the event, a tall task at the short track. Burr made another solo start in 2001, driving for his own team at Nashville Superspeedway Nashville . He started the event in last 36th and only made it up to 34th before retiring early. Burr returned to Rosenblum s team in 2002 for a five race schedule. He did well, finishing all but one race with the low budget team. Image AlexBurr.gif thumb 300px right Alex Burr photograph from 1918 newspaper article on his death Burr on right Alexander Thomson Burr November 1, 1893 October 12, 1918 was a Major League Baseball player who was killed in World War I. Born in Chicago, Illinois , Burr attended Williams College , although he turned pro before he ever played a collegiate game. Burr made the New York Yankees roster as a pitcher under manager Frank Chance . However, his only game appearance for the Yankees on April 21, 1914 came in center field. He had no fielding chances and did not have a plate appearance. Burr returned to Williams after his pro career ended, but he volunteered to serve in the war before he graduated. He was killed in an airplane accident on October 12, 1918 while serving in the United States Army Air Service in Cazaux, France . Burr s plane crashed into a lake in flames although the article at right indicates that his body was never found, in fact it was recovered after 12 days. He had been serving in France since November 1917 and was 24 years old at the time of his death. Burr was one of five Major League Baseball players who were killed in World War I . The others were Bun Troy Larry Chappell Eddie Grant baseball Eddie Grant and Ralph Sharman . He was buried in France and his remains were later repatriated his final resting place is currently unknown. To maintain the correct Speeds and feeds surface speed and cutting conditions they are rotated at the highest speed possible, commensurate with their size and construction. The cutters shown in the image are made from tungsten carbide which allows them to run at higher speeds than similar High speed steel HSS cutters, yet still maintain their cutting edges.
