Camac Harps was founded by Jo l Garnier in 1972. ref http musical instruments.toptenreviews.com harp stores camac harps review.html Camac Review ref Helmed by the innovative performer and composer Jakez Fran ois , Camac Harps are known for their innovations in harp manufacture, including using steel aircraft cables instead of solid pedal rods and using carbon fibre for the column instead of all wood, resulting in a concert grand pedal harp that weighs 8 10  kg less than traditionally constructed pedal harps. The pedal harp mechanism of Camac Harps is also designed to be regulated easily by the harpist themselves instead of having to be sent to a professional harp workshop. Camac Harps is perhaps best known for its Blue range, electric harp and midi harp innovations. Camac Harps produces solid body electric lever harps with 31 and 36 strings, and electro acoustic pedal harps. Camac Harps are noted for finishing harps in unusual, non traditional colours, such as blue, green, and pink. Camac also produces what may be the finest sharping lever available. Sharping levers are used on folk harps. FASTBUS IEEE 960 is a computer bus standard, originally intended to replace CAMAC in high speed, large scale data acquisition. Description A FASTBUS system consists of one or more segments . Each segment may be a crate segment or a cable segment . Segments are connected together using a segment interconnect SI . A crate segment typically consists of a backplane with slots to hold up to 25 modules, mounted in a 19 inch rack . Each module is typically a printed circuit board with a front panel, similar to a Blade PC . Modules are physically about 14  inches by 15 inches, and may occupy one or more adjacent slots. Small systems may consist of only one crate segment, or a small number of independent crate segments connected directly to a central computer rather than using segment interconnects. FASTBUS uses the Emitter coupled logic ECL electrical standard, which allows higher speed than TTL and generates less switching noise. Segments implement a 32 bit multiplexed address data bus, which allows a larger address space than CAMAC. A module may be a Master or slave . There may be multiple masters in a segment masters arbitrate for control of the bus and then perform data transfers to or from slaves. This allows for very fast read out of an entire segment by doing a chained block read from a master with a general purpose CPU. Each IO card will then assume mastership, send its data and then hand off mastership to the next card in a sequence, all without the overhead of the supervising board with the general purpose CPU. Cable Segments are implemented using 32 bit wide parallel ... current power distribution. History FASTBUS was conceived as a replacement for CAMAC in data acquisition systems. Limitations of CAMAC were a slow bus speed, limited bus width, single bus controller and unwieldy inter crate communications the CAMAC Branch Highway . FASTBUS sought improvement in all ... Pacha Kamaq Quechua languages Quechua , Creator of the World also Pacha Camac , Pachacamac and Pacharurac was the deity worshipped in the city of Pachacamac by the Ichma . Pacha Kamaq was believed to have created the first man and woman , but forgot to give them food and the man died. The woman cursed Pacha Kamaq, accusing him of neglect, and Pacha Camac made her fertile. Later Pacha Kamaq killed her son and cut the corpse into pieces, each of which became a separate fruit or vegetable plant . The woman s second son, Wichama , escaped, so Pacha Kamaq killed the woman. Wichama sought revenge and drove Pacha Kamaq into the ocean . Tahuantinsuyu adopted Pacha Kamaq when they incorporated the Ichma into their empire. In late Inca mythology he was a son of Inti and Mama Quilla , and husband of Mama Pacha . Athgoe irish place name th G ford of the water ref name sullivan Newcastle Lyons A Parish of the Pale , P. O Sullivan Ed. , Geography Publications, Dublin, 1986 ISBN 0 906602033 ref is the name of three townland s situated in the Barony of Newcastle, in west county Dublin on the Dublin Kildare border. The townlands are Athgoe, Athgoe North and Athgoe South. Etymology The name probably derives from either Ath Gabha the ford of the smith in Irish, or Smithford to completely anglicize it or th G the ford of the water or the ford leading to the sea. ref name sullivan It is interesting to note that the land immediately to the west of Mileys Bridge see below is quite wet despite having been drained both recently and earlier. In the Ordnance Survey map of 1840, the contour line suggests a partially or permanently wet area. This would lend credence to the name being derived from the ford of the water . Geography and Land Use The area lies between Newcastle, County Dublin and the N7 Dublin to Limerick road. The townlands are contiguous and range from the top of Athgoe Hill southwest to the Kildare border. Athgoe is a predominantly rural area with tillage, cattle and sheep as the main farming activities. The ford that gives the area its name would have crossed what is now a minor stream at the bottom of Athgoe hill that feeds into the River Camac Camac river further east. The Camac eventually empties into the Liffey at Heuston Station . History At the top of Athgoe hill there is a circular earthwork described as Raheen on maps the little rath , although it is quite possibly a bronze age tumulus barrow . Athgoe Castle completed in 1579 by the Locke family is a prominent landmark. The small post medieval bridge spanning the stream is known locally as Miley s bridge. In the documentary records, the earliest mention of Athgoe is in the 13th century when a document is witnessed by one Thomas De Agdoo in 1250. ref Register of St. John the Baptist, Dublin F.E. This unit utilizes Camac coaxial connectors except for the XLR balanced ones , which were used in the medical industry as well, because they break hot before they break ground when you unplug them. No shorting electronics means a safe preamp and safe ER patients. An external power block, the PLS 226, was used to keep interference to a minimum. The No. 26S came in 3 versions, a Balanced audio version, a RCA connector Phono version, and vanilla version that could do neither. There are both solid body and hollow body electro acoustic models available. True electric harps have a solid body versus a hollow body electro acoustic harp, which can be played either acoustically or electronically. A true electric solid body harp cannot be played acoustically since it has no resonator hollow soundbox , and must be amplified when played. LEMO is both the name of an electronic and fibre optic connector manufacturer, based in Switzerland, and the name commonly used to refer to push pull connectors made by that company, which are used in medical, industrial, audio visual, telecommunications, military, scientific research and measurement applications. The company took its name from the company founder, engineer L on Mo uttet, originally a manufacturer of contacts in noble and rare metals. The best known LEMO connectors are high quality push pull circular types. LEMO has set several connector standards. The LEMO 00, a miniature push pull 50 impedence coaxial connector, is used in the Nuclear Instrumentation Module NIM and Computer Automated Measurement and Control CAMAC standards used in instrumentation for nuclear and particle physics, where it is used as a replacement for BNC connector s in high density designs. While LEMO connectors were generally developed as proprietary designs, the legal status of many of the older designs is not clear. For example, the LEMO website itself shows a standardisation date of 1970 for the LEMO 00 model. Any patent on that design would therefore have expired around 2000 or earlier, depending on the filing date and jurisdiction.
