The Colorado Commission on HigherEducation CCHE was established in 1965 by the Colorado General Assembly . The Commission replaced an association which met informally to consider matters related to highereducation . In 1985 the Assembly gave the Commission increased authority and specific directives through the passage of House Bill 1187. Specific responsibilities include developing long range plans for an evolving state system of highereducation Review and approve degree programs. Establish the distribution formula for highereducation funding recommend statewide funding levels to the legislature. Approve institutional capital construction requests recommend capital construction priorities to the legislature. Develop policies for institutional and facility master plans. Administer statewide student financial assistance programs through policy development, program evaluation, and allocation of funds. Develop and administer a statewide off campus extended studies , community service, and continuing education program. Determine institutional roles and missions. Establish statewide enrollment policies and admission standards. Conduct special studies as appropriate or directed, regarding statewide education policy, finance, or effective coordination. The Utah State Board of Regents was formed in 1969 as a governing body for the Utah System of HigherEducation . It is made up of the College of Eastern Utah , Dixie State College of Utah , Salt Lake Community College , Snow College , Southern Utah University , the University of Utah , Utah College of Applied Technology , Utah State University , Utah Valley University , and Weber State University . The Nevada System of HigherEducation NSHE formerly the University and Community College System of Nevada UCCSN was formed in 1968 to oversee all state supported highereducation in the United States U.S. state of Nevada . The name was changed in 2004. Two doctoral granting research universities, one state college, four community colleges and one research institute comprise the System. About 98,000 students attend the degree granting campuses. An elected Board of Regents is responsible for the governance of the institutions comprising the Nevada System of HigherEducation. Elected to serve a six year term, the 13 Regents set policies and approve budgets for Nevada s entire public system of highereducation. The Board holds eight regular meetings each year as well as additional committee meetings. Regular meetings are rotated among the campuses throughout the state. All regular and committee meetings are open to the public.
