The CambridgeAgreement was an agreement made on August 29, 1629, between the shareholders of the Massachusetts Bay Company , at Cambridge, England . Under its terms, one group of shareholders, who intended to emigrate to the New World , agreed to conditions that would result in their purchase of shares held by the remaining shareholders, who did not want to emigrate. The agreement led directly to the foundation of Boston, Massachusetts . The CambridgeAgreement was a deal over whether the Massachusetts Bay Colony would be under local control, in New England , or under the control of a corporate board in London . Not all the shareholders of the Company were actually interested in emigrating, even if they were sympathetic Puritans . In return for guaranteeing local control over the colony, the non emigrating shareholders were bought out by the emigrating shareholders. John Winthrop became leader of the emigrating group as a result of the negotiations he was elected the company and colonial governor in October 1629. The agreement guaranteed that Massachusetts would be a self governing colony, answerable only to the English Crown . The Colony and the Company were now, for all intents and purposes, one and the same. Winthrop s Puritans carried their own charter, as well as the agreement, on their journey to New England in 1630. 12 Signers Richard Saltonstall Thomas Dudley William Vassall Nich. A plurilateral agreement is a multi national legal or trade agreement between countries. In economic jargon, it is an agreement between more than two countries, but not a great many, which would be multilateral agreement . ref name DGIEP cite web title Deardorff s Glossary of International Economics P url http www personal.umich.edu alandear glossary p.html accessdate 2008 07 11 ref Use of the term in the World Trade Organization The term plurilateral agreement is used in the World Trade Organization . A plurilateral agreement implies that WTO accession and membership WTO member countries would be given the choice to agree to new rules on a voluntary basis. This contrasts with the multilateral WTO agreement, where all WTO accession and membership WTO members are party to the agreement. The Agreement on Government Procurement is typical plurilateral agreement. Plurilateral treaties A plurilateral treaty is a special type of multilateral treaty . A plurilateral treaty is a treaty between a limited number of states with a particular interest in the subject of the treaty. ref Anthony Aust 2000 . Modern Treaty Law and Practice CambridgeCambridge University Press p. 112. ref The primary difference between a plurilateral treaty and other multilateral treaties is that the availability of reservation law reservations is more limited under a plurilateral treaty. Due to the limited nature of a plurilateral treaty, the full cooperation of the parties to the treaty is required in order for the object of the treaty to be met. As a result, reservations to plurilateral treaties are not allowed without the consent of all other parties to the treaty. This principle is codified in international law by article 20 2 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties blockquote When it appears from the limited number of the negotiating states and the object and purpose of a treaty that the application of the treaty in its entirety between all the parties is an essential condition of the consent ... more details

The Hoyv k Agreement is a free trade agreement between the Faroe Islands and Iceland that was signed 31 August 2005 in the town of Hoyv k in the Faroe Islands. It is the most extensive free trade agreement that either nation has entered into. It guarantees almost complete freedom of goods, services, persons and capital. It also deals with competition and government subsidies and prohibits any kind of discrimination based on nationality except when it is specially provided for by the agreement. The agreement is unique for Iceland as it the first such agreement establishing free trade in agricultural products, a sector that usually sees a lot of protection from the Icelandic authorities. A notable exception to the free trade agreement is the special status of the fisheries industry. Pre existing restrictions on foreign investment in the industry present in both countries will not be abolished. In addition to free trade, the agreement also provides a framework for increased cooperation between the nations regarding all the common interests of the nations. Especially mentioned fields of cooperation include culture, education, sports, health care, transportation, communications, tourism, environmental issues, energy and resource management. The Faroese L gting ratified the agreement on 2 May 2006 and the Icelandic Al ingi did the same on 3 June. On 21 August 2006, a statement was made by the annual general meeting of the West Nordic Council that the possibility of extending the agreement to include Greenland thus creating a West Nordic free trade zone should be seriously studied. A collective agreement or collective bargaining agreement CBA is an agreement between employers and employees which regulates the terms and conditions of employees in their workplace, their duties and the duties of the employer.
