This balancing process makes the cashier responsible for the money in his or her cash register . The balancing process In order to balance or settle the cash drawer, first, the manager or sometimes the cashier prepares to count the money in the register. Counting the money is usually done in the back office the Cash drawer drawer is removed from the register and taken into the office. By preparing to count the money, all large bills, cheque check s and coupons and food stamp s if any are removed and put to the side. Next, the person counting the money counts it back to its starting amount. The starting amount is the amount of money that was in the drawer at the beginning of the shift. As this is being done, there will be additional bills and change that will be put off to the side along with the larger bills. Charles F. Wright brother of Myron Benjamin Wright was born in Forest Lake Township, Pennsylvania . He graduated from the Montrose Academy in 1874, and worked as a teller for the First National Bank of Montrose, Pennsylvania , 1875 1881. He was an assistant cashier, cashier, and president of the First National Bank of Susquehanna Depot from 1882 to 1899. He was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1896 Republican National Convention 1896 , 1904 Republican National Convention 1904 , and 1908 Republican National Convention 1908 . Wright was elected as a Republican to the 56th United States Congress Fifty sixth , 57th United States Congress Fifty seventh , and 58th United States Congress Fifty eighth Congresses. He was the chairman of the United States House Committee on Expenditures in the Department of Agriculture during the Fifty eighth Congress. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1904. Tench Francis 1730 1800 was a merchant, lawyer and agent for the family of William Penn and the first cashier of the Bank of North America . He was born the son of Elizabeth Turbitt and Tench Francis Sr. , a prominent Philadelphia lawyer and jurist, at Fausley, Talbot County, Maryland , in 1730. For many years he acted as agent for the William Penn family in connection with their proprietary interests in provincial Pennsylvania . He became the first cashier of the Bank of North America , which office he held until his death. He is said to have contributed 5,000 for the support of the Revolutionary army. He later headed the commission that laid out the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . His appointment as purveyor of public supplies on February 23, 1795 unified Navy pursers under a single head, and it is from this event that the Navy Supply Corps dates its birth. He married Ann Willing , daughter of Philadelphia mayor Charles Willing and Ann Shippen . Francis died in Philadelphia, 1 May 1800 he is buried in Christ Church Burial Ground .
