Chabot helped establish the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Quebec and served as chairman of the Quebec conference and president of the Quebec council. He served as commissioner of public works from 1849 to 1850, when he was forced to resign after being arrested while drunk in Toronto . In 1851, he was elected in Bellechasse electoral district Bellechasse . He again served as commissioner of public works from 1852 to 1855, also representing the government on the board of directors of the Grand Trunk Railway . Anthony Chabot Regional Park is a regional park on convert 5067 acre in the San Leandro Hills adjacent to Oakland, California Oakland , San Leandro, California San Leandro and Castro Valley, California Castro Valley . The park is adjacent to Lake Chabot Regional Park and also to EBMUD EBMUD s Upper San Leandro Reservoir. It houses a golf golfing club and a marksmanship club. There are also trail s for hiking , horseback riding , and cycling that connect to other regional parks, as well as an improved campground , equestrian center, and an amphitheater . The terrain is often steep, consisting of grasslands , chaparral , and eucalyptus groves. It is part of the East Bay Regional Park District system. Biography Chabot was president of the tribunal in Montlu on , he was elected as a deputy supplant to the National Convention during the French Revolution . A member of the French Directory s Council of the Ancients , then of the French Consulate Consulate s Tribunate , he was president of the latter when the Treaty of Amiens recognizing the First French Republic French Republic was signed. He had a resolution adopted which tended to give Napoleon I of France Napoleon Bonaparte the First Consul consulship for life , and in 1804 supported the proposal to establish a hereditary monarchy the First French Empire . Napoleon named him inspector general of the law schools, then judge of the Court of Cassation France court of cassation .
