Other terms used in Australia include respiratory or cardiothoracic physiotherapy. Techniques include clapping or percussion the therapist lightly claps the patient s chest, back, and area under the arms. Chest of viols is a term which was used primarily in the 16th and 17th centuries in England for either a consort of instruments consort of viol s, or the specialized cabinet furniture cabinet made to contain a small consort of viols, usually containing two treble, two tenor, and two bass viols, or alternately two treble, three tenor, and one bass viol. When the term refers to instruments, they are generally similar in make, tone, power, relative size, wood type, and color. In terms of size, the bass viol s string length should be exactly twice that of the treble viol s. ref Brown, Woodfield ref The similarity required of the viols in a chest of viols usually meant that they were made by the same maker, and sometimes were ordered in sets. Similar viols were desirable because they would blend better, and also stay in tune with each other better than more disparate instruments. One enclosure is described by Thomas Tudway in Hawkins s General History as a large hutch, with several apartments and partitions in it each partition was lined with green bays, to keep the instruments from being injured by the weather. ref Quoted in Brown ref These cases were sometimes expanded to house an expanding collection of instruments. As mentioned in the above quote, the purpose of the chest was not only to house the instruments, but also to protect them from changes in temperature and humidity, which can damage instruments. Many wealthy English families owned a chest of viols, which speaks to the popularity of consort music for viol in home music making, as a private entertainment. ref Bashford ref In 1617 Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork bought a chest of viols for 8 sterling. ref Fletcher ref 8 sterling in 1600 would be worth about US 1550 in 2010. ref Eliasen ref A similar grouping can be found in chests of lutes. Synopsis A king left his queen because they were childless and told her if she did not have a child by the time he returned, in a year, he would part with her. An donor fairy tale old woman advised her to eat a bud from a bush. She would have a daughter. The old woman would give her a nurse, who must raise the girl without anyone else seeing her until she was fourteen. The queen did as she said, but when the fourteen years were one day short of complete, the king went to see her. The princess said that now she would die. The king had his choice of a pestilence, a long and bloody war, or putting her body in a wooden coffin and setting a sentinel over it every day for a year. He did not believe it, but chose the coffin. The next morning, she was dead. He did as she directed, but every night, the sentinel vanished. Soon, the story was that the princess s ghost ate whoever it was, and soldiers deserted rather than take on the duty. The king got more by offering rewards, but no one ever received it. One day, a smith named Christian came to the capital looking for work. Soldiers got him to agree to the job, because he had gotten drunk. When the drink wore off, he tried to flee, but a little man stopped him and told him to stay in the pulpit until the coffin lid slammed. He went into the pulpit, and at midnight, the princess came out and howled, demanding the sentinel. She saw him in the pulpit but could not get up after him. Finally, she had to go back to the coffin. The next day, the king gave him a reward and a good meal, where he had plenty to drink, until the king offered twice ... In many countries, miniature mass radiographs MMR was quickly adopted and extensively utilized in the 1950s. For example, in Brazil and in Japan , tuberculosis prevention laws went into effect, obligating ca. 60 of the population to undergo MMR screening. However, as a mass screening program for low risk populations, the procedure was largely discontinued in the 1970s, following recommendation of the World Health Organization , due to three main reasons The dramatic decrease of the general incidence of tuberculosis in developed countries from 150 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 1900, 70 100,000 in 1940 and 5 100,000 in 1950 Decreased Cost benefit analysis benefits cost ratio a recent Canadian study ref cite journal author Schwartzman K, Menzies D title Tuberculosis screening of immigrants to low prevalence countries.
