  1. Clausius (crater)

lunar crater data latitude 36.9 N or S S longitude 43.3 E or W W diameter 25 km depth 2.5 km colong 44 eponym Rudolf Clausius Rudolf J. E. Clausius Clausius is a moon lunar Impact crater crater that is located in the southwest part of the Moon , in the small lunar mare designated Lacus Excellentiae . It is completely enclosed by mare material, although the tiny satellite crater Clausius A lies just to the north. The rim of Clausius is low and sharp, with a slightly oval shape that is longer in the north south direction. The interior floor has been flooded by basalt ic lava , and appears level and featureless with a darker surface that matches the mare surface that surrounds the crater exterior. Satellite craters By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater mid point that is closest to Clausius. class wikitable width 25 style background eeeeee Clausius width 25 style background eeeeee Latitude width 25 style background eeeeee Longitude width 25 style background eeeeee Diameter align center A align center 36.3 S align center 43.9 W align center 7 km align center B align center 36.0 S align center 40.1 W align center 23 km align center BA align center 35.7 S align center 40.1 W align center 17 km align center C align center 35.4 S align center 38.9 W align center 15 km align center D align center 38.2 S align center 44.6 W align center 18 km align center E align center 36.4 S align center 45.5 W align center 6 km align center F align center 36.5 S align center 38.1 W align center 26 km align center G align center 37.1 S align center 41.0 W align center 6 km align center H align center 37.8 S align center 39.6 W align center 7 km align center J align center 37.2 S align center 42.7 W align center 4 km References Lunar crater references Category Impact craters on the Moon da Clausius m nekrater de Clausius Mondkrater fa it Clausius cratere ...   more details
