  1. Comprehensive layout

Unreferenced date December 2009 In graphic design and advertising , a comprehensive layout or comprehensive, usually shortened to comp , is the page layout of a proposed design as initially presented by the designer to a client, showing the relative positions of typography text and illustration s before the specific content of those elements has been decided on, as a rough draft of the final layout in which to build around. The illustration element may incorporate stock photography , clip art , or other found material that gives an idea of what should be visually communicated, before entering any negotiations concerning the rights to use a specific image for the purpose. Picture agencies may encourage such use free of charge, in the hope that the comp image sometimes referred to as a positional image will end up being used in the final product. For this reason, it is sometimes mistakenly believed that comp is short for complimentary, as it is in some other promotional contexts. Even in the age of rapid desktop publishing software, comps may be developed using hand rendering techniques and materials to avoid investing too much time on the computer before client approval of the idea, depending on the complexity of the production task. A hand rendered comp may be useful in helping the client refrain from Nitpicking pastime nitpicking the production quality and focus on the design idea. 1. Comprehensive Cover

improvereferences date April 2012 Comprehensive Cover is the highest level of cover a person can have if they take out motor insurance in the United Kingdom. Most people think it is the most expensive, however in recent years, Comprehensive Cover has actually gone cheaper than the lesser cover Third Party, Fire and Theft Cover in most cases. By taking out Comprehensive Cover, people in the United Kingdom are not only covered for third party claims after an incident, they are also covered for damage caused to their own vehicle. Depending on the policy there would be different excess payments made to the garage that repairs the vehicle, and insurers normally need to authorise the estimate before repairs can proceed. Once the authorised garage has completed the repairs, the policyholder would then pay that garage their excess payment and the insurers would pay the remainder. If the case was non fault, the insurance company would then chase their financial losses from the other insurance company that they felt were at fault. In some cases, they could be unsuccessful, or due to the lack of evidence only manage to agree 50 50 split and get half their losses back. In some cases the insured would have legal cover to help them recover their own financial un insured losses, the excess would be included on that. class wikitable style text align center margin left 1em font size 90 float left Insurance Cover width 250 Types align center COMPREHENSIVE COVER align center Third Party, Fire & Theft Cover align center Third Party Only Cover align center RTA Insurer align center Article 75 Article 75 Insurer Category Insurance in the United Kingdom Category Vehicle insurance ...   more details
