Orphan date February 2009 Computer aided architectural engineering CAAE is the use of information technology for architectural engineering , in tasks such as the analysis, simulation, design, manufacture, planning, diagnosis and repair of architectural structures. CAAE is a subclass of computer aided engineering .The first Computer aided archetectureal design was written by 1960s.It helped architectures very much so they don t need to draw blueprints . Computer aided design also known as CAD was the first type of progam to help architectures but since it did not have all the features, Computer aided architectural engineering created as a specefic software with all the tools for design. Overview All CAAD and CAAE systems use a set of data with geometric and other aspects of an abject they all use information technology to assembling design from standard or non standard pieces. For example softwares like computer animation is what is made in CAAE field. All the blue prints around us is made either by CAAE or CAAD sofwares. Degree Getting a degree in computer aided architectural engineering can quilify one for higher level positions. This specialization is for students interedted in having careers in architectural engineering and drafting.a CAAE can have jobs in many areas such as Expeditor ,Construction Estimator, Project Manager ,project architecture and many other fields related to these. Advantages An advantages to CAAE is to develop the two way mapping software of subject. The two dimension mapping are set to be between the surface structure TM1 and the deep structure TM2 . In designing the systems, system designers usually pay attention to TM1. 1. Computer aided call handling

Refimprove date November 2010 Computer aided call handling is a methodology for managing calls to service providers, such as emergency services, through the use of computer based algorithms in order to make consistent and objective decisions on action to be taken. The computer software can provide scripting, prompts or interactive questioning to assist the call handler in gathering information. The alogrithms in the software will depend on the requirements of the service provider, the resources they have available, and the information that may be useful to resources dispatched or assigned to the call. The output is likely to be a prioritised list of tasks for action, where the action could be passing to another remote service such as a telephony centre , dispatching a physical resource such as an ambulance , police car or recovery truck or closing the call without action. The advantage in using a computer based system is objectivity in decisions made, meaning a consistent service delivery. Call handling software can be linked to computer aided dispatch in order that this process is fully integrated, and information from the call handling software is passed directly to dispatch software where appropriate. ref http www.freepatentsonline.com 7646858.html Protocol builder for a call handling system ref This could also mean dispatching services which are not part of the organisation using the call handling software, such as an ambulance control centre automatically dispatching police to a violent incident, without the requirement to involve a further operator. ref http www.powerphone.com dev news pdf PowerPhone ENP CACH Article.pdf Computer Aided Call Handling Improving Technology at the Front End of Dispatch ref References references DEFAULTSORT Computer Aided Call Handling Category Logistics Category Public safety communications ...   more details

  1. Computer-aided maintenance

Computer aided maintenance not to be confused with CAM which usually stands for Computer Aided Manufacturing refers to systems that utilize software to organize planning, scheduling and support of maintenance and repair. A common application of such systems is the maintenance of computers, either hardware or software, themselves. It can also apply to the maintenance of other complex systems that require periodic maintenance, such as reminding operators that preventive maintenance is due or even predicting when such maintenance should be performed based on recorded past experience. Computer aided configuration The first computer aided maintenance software came from Digital Equipment Corporation DEC in the 1980s to configure VAX computers. The software was built using the techniques of artificial intelligence expert system s, because the problem of configuring a VAX required expert knowledge. During the research, the software was called R1 and was renamed XCON when placed in service. Fundamentally, XCON was a rule based configuration database written as an expert system using forward chaining rules. As one of the first expert systems to be pressed into commercial service it created high expectations, which did not materialize, as DEC lost commercial pre eminence. ref Virginia E. 1. Computer-aided industrial design

Refimprove date May 2009 Computer aided industrial design CAID is a subset of computer aided design CAD that includes software that directly helps in product development. Within CAID programs designers have the freedom of creativity, but typically follow a simple design methodology Creating sketches, using a stylus Generating curves directly from the sketch Generating surfaces directly from the curves The end result is a 3D model that projects the main design intent the designer had in mind. The model can then be saved in STL format to send it to a rapid prototyping machine to create the real life model. CAID helps the designer to focus on the technical part of the design methodology rather than taking care of sketching and modeling then contributing to the selection of a better product proposal in less time. Later, when the requisites and parameters of the product have been defined by means of using CAID software, the designer can import the result of his work into a CAD program typically a Solid Modeler for adjustments prior to production and generation of blueprints and manufacturing processes. What differentiates CAID from CAD is that the former is far more conceptual and less technical than the latter. Within a CAID program, the designer can express him herself without extents, whilst in CAD software there is always the manufacturing factor.
