Maharani Datar Kaur died 1838 was the second wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh and daughter of Sardar Ran Singh Nakai The Third Ruler of Nakai Misl One of the 12 Sikh Kingdoms in Punjab Nakai Sardars ruled Countryside of Kasur District and Around Khem Karan and the Sister of Sardar Bhagwan Singh and Sardar Gyan Singh. Originally named Raj Kaur, she changed her name to Datar Kaur as Ranjit Singh s mother was also named Raj Kaur. She was married to the Maharaja in 1798 who lovingly addressed her as Mal Nakain. In 1801, she gave birth to Kharak Singh , the eldest son and heir apparent of Ranjit Singh. Refimprove date August 2007 file Pariangan.jpg thumb 300px Pariangan village Pariangan is a small Minangkabau people Minangkabau village located in the regency of Tanah Datar , West Sumatra province, Indonesia . The village is located on the lower slopes of Mount Marapi , a highly active volcano , at a distance of fifteen kilometres from the market town of Batu Sangkar . Despite its size, the village is of great cultural and historical significance to the Minangkabau people. History Local legend states that Pariangan is the oldest of all Minangkabau villages. A large ancient tomb in the village is said to belong to Tantejo Gurhano , an early ruler. Today the whole village is preserved as a cultural monument under national legislation. Architecture and Design Pariangan is one of the best preserved traditional Minangkabau villages, containing many rumah gadang traditional houses. The oldest of these are said to be three hundred years old and feature beautiful wood carving and walls woven from rattan. The town also features a surau , a communal living quarters for unmarried males, one of very few surviving examples of such a structure. The centrepiece of the town today is a large traditional mosque said to date back to the beginning of the nineteenth century. It is believed to be the oldest Minangkabau mosque in existence. He was the grandson of Sultan Muning Alamsyah . He had four brothers sisters Puti Reno Sori, Tuan Gadih Tembong, Tuan Bujang Nan Bakundi and Yang Dipertuan Batuhampar. Sultan Alam Bagagarsyah was appointed as regent of Tanah Datar after the Netherlands seized Pagaruyung from the Padri War Padri . Because of an alleged conspiracy against the Dutch, Bagagarsyah Sultan Alam was arrested and exiled to Batavia, Dutch East Indies Batavia , where he died in 1849. When Sultan Alam Bagagarsyah was still 15 years old, a bloody dispute with the Padri in Koto Tangah happened. He managed to escape to Padang, Indonesia Padang , which at that time controlled by United Kingdom . In Padang he lived as a commoner. On February 10, 1821, along with 19 other adat leaders Sultan Alam Bagagarsyah signed an agreement to give Pagaruyung, Suruaso, Sungaitarab and surrounding villages to the Dutch East Indies . They also promised to obey and comply with the Dutch East Indies government.
