A common application for a GBS is an offshore oil platform . These structures are often constructed in fjords since their protected area and sufficient depth are very desirable for construction. A GBS intended for use as an offshore oil platform is constructed of steel reinforced concrete , often with tanks or cells which can be used to control the buoyancy of the finished GBS. When completed, a GBS is towed to its intended location and sunk. The platform structure which a GBS supports is called the topsides. Gravity based structures are also widely used for offshore wind power plants. By the end of 2010, 14 of the world s offshore wind farms were supported by Gravity based structures. The GBS are suited for water depths up to 20 meters. Currently used mostly in streaming video processing in broadcast internet and terrestrial and video surveillance security markets. Cradle claims the MDSP is the most powerful DSP currently available. Citation needed date May 2007 It is a loosely coupled multiprocessor DSP chip that employs a compute and Input output IO sub systems with programmable software defined IO, consisting of general purpose and signal processing cores. The general purpose cores are used for control and IO processing and the DSP cores for fixed point arithmetic fixed or floating point computation. MDSP is similar in architecture to the Cell microprocessor processor from STI Sony, Toshiba and IBM except it has multiple processing elements instead of just one like Cell. Cell s PE is powerpc based whereas MDSP is not. The PE processing element or GPP General purpose central processing unit processor units are a 32 bit general purpose Reduced instruction set computing risc like cores coupled with signal processing units DSP or DSE via a Bus computing databus . Development tools The initial software development kit sdk4 was based on cygwin 1.3.x and Cradles umgcc GNU Compiler Collection GCC port . Sdk5 is based on cygwin 1.5.x and cragcc gcc port . The S is about 4.35 ma V , the 6DJ8 ECC88 has a S of 12.5 ma V and a gain of 33 and a lower internal resistance. The curves of the 6DJ8 have a better linearity too. It is inaccurate to say that these two tubes are identical. The closest western equivalent to the 6N1P is the well known 6BQ7A. A ruggedized extended ratings version of the tube is designated 6N1P EV lang ru 6 1 It has currently found a use as a driver tube in hi fi tube amplifiers such as Audio Research models VS55 and VS110 because of its excellent low distortion and low noise characteristics.
