Background DESMOND is the first national education programme created for people with Type 2 diabetes. DESMOND meets the criteria National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence NICE identified as being the characteristics of a quality, evidence based structured education programme. Steroid diabetes also steroid induced diabetes is a medical term referring to prolonged hyperglycemia due to glucocorticoid therapy for another medical condition. It is usually, but not always, a transient condition.
