    Down Syndrome Centre is a registered Irish charity that was set up in 2002 by parents of children with Down syndrome . The aim of the charity is to establish Ireland s first centre to provide a range of dedicated services medical, developmental and educational which meet the specific needs of people with Down syndrome throughout their lifetime. In the years since start up, the charity has been busy building funds for the purposes of acquiring land and covering building costs for the centre but the search for a site within the environs of Dublin has been thwarted by a lack of affordable land and over inflated land prices. Songwriter Written by Francis Rossi and Bob Young artist Bob Young and record producer produced by Status Quo, Down Down was one of Status Quo s two chart topper number one single music singles in the UK Singles Chart so far the second being Come on You Reds in 1994 . Down Down spent a week at the top of the chart in January 1975. The single was first released on 29 November 1974 on the Vertigo Records Vertigo record label label , paired with the A side and B side B side song Nightride . Both songs came from the album On The Level which had yet to be released. The album version lasts 5 minutes and 24 seconds and the single version 3 minutes and 49 seconds. Originally it was entitled Get Down , but this was changed before release, possibly to avoid confusion with the Gilbert O Sullivan song of the same name. Frequently patients will have reduced stereopsis , large accommodative lag on dynamic retinoscopy , and a reduced visual field tubular or spiral field . Streff Syndrome was first described in 1962 by an optometrist, Dr. John Streff as Non malingering Syndrome. In 1962, Dr. Streff and Dr. Richard Apell expanded the concept to add Early Adaptive Syndrome as a precursor to Streff Syndrome. Dr. Streff believed the visual changes were induced by stress from reading. There is dispute on the taxonomy of functional vision defects.
