Don Ford 1921 1965 was an influential USA American science fiction fandom science fiction fan from Ohio . Don began reading science fiction in 1930, and his lifelong love of the genre led him into science fiction fandom fandom where he made many notable contributions in fan writing, science fiction fanzine fanzine editing and convention running. He possessed a notably large SF magazine collection. He was a leading member of the Cincinnati Fantasy Group CFG and a founder member of First Fandom . He attended the 6th World Science Fiction Convention 1948 Worldcon in Toronto and in 1949 he chaired 7th World Science Fiction Convention Cinvention, the seventh Worldcon in Cincinnati . In 1950 he founded and chaired the first Midwestcon . Well connected to fans in both the UK and US, he worked with Walt Willis to develop TransAtlantic Fan Fund TAFF and he was the first TAFF US administrator. He won the 1959 TAFF race, attending the 1960 Eastercon in London. He died unexpectedly on 2 April 1965 at the age of 44 from cancer. Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 The E. B. Eddy Company was a Canadian pulp and paper industry pulp and paper company, now a division of Domtar Inc. It was originally incorporated in 1886 as The E. B. Eddy Manufacturing Company with Ezra Butler Eddy as its president. Eddy had begun business in 1854 making and selling wooden match es out of his home in Hull, Quebec . The company expanded into pulp and paper. In 1891, it was renamed to the E. B. Eddy Company . On April 26, 1900, a large fire destroyed most of the company s facilities, but it was back in operation in less than a year. Eddy died in 1906. In 1926, Richard Bedford Bennett, 1st Viscount Bennett R.B. Bennett gained control of the company. In 1928, the match business was sold off as the Eddy Match Company . In 1943, the company was sold to George Weston, Ltd. . The company acquired the paper mills of the J.R. Booth Company in 1946. In 1998, the company was taken over by Domtar Inc. and became the E. B. Eddy Division of that company. At the time of the purchase, the company had facilities in Hull, Timmins, Ontario Timmins , Espanola, Ontario Espanola , Chapleau, Ontario Chapleau , Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Sault Ste. Marie , Delta, British Columbia and Port Huron, Michigan .
