Elektrooniline Riigi Teataja commonly abbreviated eRT is the WWW web based outlet for publication of laws and official announcements of the Republic of Estonia . Just like Riigi Teataja , eRT is published by Riigikantselei . Since 1 January 2006, eRT is the only form of official publication for most Estonian laws, and paper based Riigi Teataja issues are only printed occasionally, for checking purposes. Legal effects Unless otherwise specified by Riigikogu , Estonian laws are enacted 10 days after official publication. Although other methods are still possible, official publication is nowadays almost always done through the eRT . Predecessors Introduction of Elektrooniline Riigi Teataja made obsolete several earlier electronic databases of Estonian laws, most notably, the privately maintained Estlex system. Background Estonia is one of the first countries in the world to have an official electronic publication for legal texts. Most member countries of European Union now publish their laws electronically, but usually still without full legal force. Furthermore, most other countries that do publish their laws in electronic form, do it only after the enactment of these laws. 1. Electrical resistivity tomography

Electrical resistivity tomography ERT or electrical resistivity imaging ERI is a Geophysics geophysical technique for Geophysical imaging imaging sub surface structures from electrical measurements made at the surface, or by electrode s in one or more borehole s. It is closely related to the medical imaging technique electrical impedance tomography EIT , and mathematically is the same inverse problem . In contrast to medical EIT however ERT is essentially a direct current method. A related geophysical method, induced polarization , measures the transient response. The technique evolved from techniques of electrical prospecting that predate digital computers, where layers or anomalies were sought rather than images. Early work on the mathematical problem in the 1930s assumed a layered medium see for example Langer, Slichter . Andrey Nikolayevich Tychonoff Tikhonov who is best known for his work on regularization of inverse problems also worked on this problem. He explains in detail how to solve the ERT problem in a simple case of 2 layered medium. During the 1940s he collaborated with geophyicists and without the aid of computers they discovered large deposits of copper. As a result they were awarded a State Prize of Soviet Union. When adequate computers became widely available the inverse problem of ERT could be solved numerically, and the work of Loke and Barker at Birmingham University was among the first such solution, and their approach is still widely used. Applications of ERT include mineral prospecting , monitoring of ground water flow and archeology . In industrial process imaging ERT can be used in a similar fashion to medical EIT, to image the distribution of conductivity in mixing vessels and pipes. In this context it is usually called Electrical Resistance Tomography , emphasising the quantity that is measured rather than imaged. 1. Special Emergency Response Team

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 For the Australian unit Special Emergency Response Team Queensland The Special Emergency Response Team SERT was the Royal Canadian Mounted Police RCMP counter terrorism unit which existed until 1993. Its duties were then taken by the Canadian Forces in the form of Joint Task Force Two JTF 2 . SERT was formed in the 1980s, but its history can be traced back to the Emergency Response Team ERT that took shape in 1976 to deal with hostage and rescue patrol unit HARP . The primary purpose for the creation of the SERT team was that it was determined at the time that neither the regional police SWAT teams, nor the ERT teams were properly equipped to deal with counter terrorism activities. Members were drawn from the countries various ERT teams, and recruits were subjected to a physically and mentally grueling selection process. SERT was disbanded, reportedly, due to conflicts the RCMP and certain agencies within the Canadian government saw between the lethal mandate of the team, and the mandate of the RCMP as a police agency to save and protect life. During the transition between SERT and JTF2, RCMP operators from SERT were used as subject matter experts and as members of the training staff. Training and handover of operations took place at Dwyer Hill. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police RCMP still maintains a national network of special operations units called the Emergency Response Team RCMP Emergency Response Team , usually aligned with the Force s geographic divisions. i.e., F Division covers Saskatchewan D Division covers Manitoba. Joint Task Force Two JTF 2 now uses SERT s former training base near Ottawa at Dwyer Hill.
