Greenhills is a residential area on the southern boundary of the town. The Greenhills shopping centre is situated adjacent to the highest point in East Kilbride, known locally as High Point, and is the terminus for many of the local bus services from Blairdardie, Summerston, the Milton and Drumchaple namingly the 16, 20 and 31. The Greenhills area is represented at South Lanarkshire level by councillor Archie Buchanan, of the Scottish National Party , who had previously served on the now defunct East Kilbride District Council.
