EastCentral Washington is an unorganized territory in Washington County, Maine Washington County , Maine , United States . The population was 768 at the 2000 United States Census 2000 census . Geography According to the United States Census Bureau , the unorganized territory has a total area of 252.6  square miles 654.2  km , of which, 208.0  square miles 538.7  km of it is land and 44.6  square miles 115.5  km of it 17.66 is water. The territory consists of six townships including Marion, Edmunds, Trescott, and Plantation 14. It has the highest rate of drownings in the U.S.A. Demographics As of the census GR 2 of 2000, there were 768 people, 315 households, and 219 families residing in the unorganized territory. The population density was 3.7 people per square mile 1.4 km . There were 609 housing units at an average density of 2.9 sq  mi 1.1 km . Geography According to the United States Census Bureau , the unorganized territory has a total area of 128.9  square miles 333.8  km , of which, 128.8  square miles 333.5  km of it is land and 0.1  square miles 0.4  km of it 0.11 is water. The territory consists of four townships, which are Reddington, Mt. Abram, Salem, and Freeman. Salem and Freeman were both incorporated as towns until 1945 and 1938, respectively.
