The conference, like many other superconferences from this time period, can be considered forerunners for multiple conferences the Big Blue River Conference Big Blue River , Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Eastern Indiana , and Tri Eastern Conference IHSAA Tri Eastern were all started in part by former members of the ECC. The formation of the TEC in 1962 almost caused the ECC to fold, as it was left with five members. However, the Hancock County Conference s five schools were merged into the fold, giving the conference new life. Consolidation was eventually the ECC s undoing, as the loop was left with five teams by 1969, all of whom started the BBRC.
