Thelema The Gnostic Saints of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica are a series of historical and mythological figures commemorated within the current of Thelema . They were first listed in Liber XV, the Liber XV, The Gnostic Mass Gnostic Mass , which is the central rite of Ordo Templi Orientis and its ecclesiastical arm, Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica . They are found in the fifth Collect of Liber XV, titled The Saints. Background Tau Apiryon, current Primate of EGC within the U.S.A., states that blockquote The Fifth Collect in Part V of Liber XV, the Gnostic Mass, defines the Saints as those who have adored the Lord of Life and Joy, which is the might of man and the essence of every true god that is upon the surface of the Earth, and who have manifested the glory of this Lord might essence unto men. ref name gmnotes http hermetic.com sabazius gmnotes.htm The Gnostic Mass Annotations and Commentary by Helena and Tau Apiryon 2004 ref blockquote In the Catholic and Orthodox Christianity Orthodox churches, a saint is a person who has been canonized officially recognized after his or her death. In Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, death is also usually, though not necessarily, a prerequisite for sainthood, since Aleister Crowley was certainly alive when he wrote Liber XV and included himself in the list. All of the Saints listed in the Gnostic Mass are male, and during the Collect they are invoked by the words blockquote May their Essence be here present, potent, puissant and paternal to perfect this feast blockquote This has been interpreted by contemporary commentators to mean that the invocation of the Saints of Liber XV was intended to inform the office of the Priest in his role as a male adorant of the Priestess in her role as Goddess incarnate. ref name gmnotes Modern additions The list of Saints in Liber XV remained static from the original writing in 1913 until relatively recently. 1. Confessio Catholica

Confessio catholica is one of the main works of German Lutheran Orthodoxy Orthodox Lutheran theologian Johann Gerhard 1582 1637 . It seeks to prove the Evangelical Catholic evangelical and catholic character of the doctrine of the Augsburg Confession from the writings of approved Roman Catholic authors. Confessio catholica, in qua doctrina catholica et evangelica, quam ecclesiae Augustanae confessioni addictae profilentur, ex Romano catholicorum scriptorum suffragiis confirmatur 4 parts, Frankfort and Leipsic, 1634 37 , is based upon the Catalogus testium veritatis of Matthias Flacius Flacius . It is more comprehensive than its title denotes, being at the same time an extensive Apologetics apology and polemic of the Lutheran Evangelical Creed. The first part is general and treats the principia et media nostrae et pontificiae religionis . The other three volumes treat the disputed articles of faith in the order of Bellarmine , the controversialist par excellence . Its contents may be compared with Gerhard s Theological Commonplaces On the Church, an earlier handling with many themes in common with the Confessio Catholica. Gaudet Mater Ecclesia , Latin for Mother Church Rejoices , is the opening declaration of the Second Vatican Council . Pope John opened the Council on October 11, 1962 in a public session before the Council Fathers as well as representatives of 86 governments and international bodies. Following a Mass, the Pope read the opening declaration. In the speech, he rejected the thoughts of prophets of doom who are always forecasting disaster in the world and in the future of the Church. Pope John stressed the pastoral, not doctrinal, nature of the Council The Church did not need to repeat or reformulate existing doctrines and dogmata but rather had to teach Christ s message in light of the modern world s ever changing trends. Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 The Consilium de Emendanda Ecclesia was a report commissioned by Pope Paul III on the abuses in the Catholic Church in 1536 . The commission appointed to review the abuses in the church was presided over by Gasparo Contarini Gasparo Cardinal Contarini and consisted of eight additional cardinal Catholicism cardinals Girolamo Aleandro , Tommaso Badia , Giovanni Pietro Carafa the later Pope Paul IV , Gregorio Cortese , Federigo Fregoso , Gianmatteo Giberti , Reginald Pole , and Jacopo Sadoleto . Their finished report was read to Paul III on 9 March 1537. It dealt mainly with the fiscal abuses of the papacy . Paul III accepted the recommendations but did not commit himself to any immediate changes. The confidential report was published illegally in 1538 and enjoyed a wide circulation. Martin Luther published a German version, completed with sarcastic side margins. Johannes Sturm approached the Consilium more seriously, applauding the effort made by the Catholic Church to abolish some of its most pressing abuses, but showing great concern whether the church could revitalisize itself without giving greater importance to the Gospel . The Consilium de emendanda ecclesia was never put into effect, although many of the proposed changes were implemented in later reforms.
