Bab edh Dhra b b al dhr is the site of an Early Bronze Age city, located near the Red Sea , in Wadi Wered . Muhammad Ahmed al Hamed born 1931 , better known by his nickname Muhammed edh Dhib lang ar Muhammad the Wolf , was a Bedouin shepherd from the Ta amireh clan s residing in Bethlehem , who discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls in winter 1946 47. According to the account of an interview conducted by J.F. Docmac and Anton Kiraz , edh Dhib s cousin Jum a Muhammad noticed some holes while shepherding, and threw a rock in to find out how big they were. He discovered they were big enough to fit a human, and told his cousin what he had found. edh Dhib fell into one of the holes later, retrieved some scrolls from a pot, and went to show them to Jum a. In 1960 edh Dhib changed his name to Abu Dahoud which means David s father after a Bedouin custom of changing ones name after the birth of the first son. References The Dead Sea Scrolls John C. In television technology, Error Detection and Handling EDH protocol is an optional but commonly used addition to the Standard Definition Serial Digital Interface SDI standard. This protocol allows an SD SDI receiver to verify that each field of video is received correctly. The SD SDI transmitter calculates two CRC values for each video field one corresponding to the active picture, and corresponding to the entire field excluding the switching lines and places them in an EDH ancillary data packet. The EDH packet is inserted at a specific location in each field of video. The SD SDI receiver also generates the same two CRC values for each field and compares them against the CRC values in the received EDH packet to determine if each field of video is received without errors. The EDH packet also contains bits to signal that a prior link in a broadcast or transmission chain contained an error equipment which receives a video signal with an incorrect CRC, and retransmits the signal, is expected to re insert the correct CRC which may be different if the equipment alters the video signal in any way and set the flag indicating a prior error. This feature makes it easier to determine which link, in a multi link chain, was the source of the error. The EDH protocol does not provide for error correction, only error detection. Also, there is no mechanism in SD SDI to allow a field containing errors to be retransmitted. EDH is used primarily to assist in identifying faulty equipment in a video chain so that it can be quickly replaced or repaired. EDH is not used with High definition television high definition video, as the HD serial digital interface includes a mandatory embedded CRC for each line. The SD SDI EDH protocol is defined by SMPTE RP 165 1994 and the equivalent ITU standard ITU R BT.1304 See also error detection and correction External links http www.leitch.com resources tutorials october.pdf Error detection and handling in digital television http www.broadcastpapers.com ... more details

It is the largest dam on the island of Hispaniola consisting of Haiti and the Dominican Republic . The dam was created as a flood control and an energy providing measure in the Artibonite river valley as part of the Artibonite Valley Agricultural Project in the 1930s. The dam was completed in 1956 thus creating Lake P ligre essentially a large reservoir in the process. The Peligre Hydroelectric Plant and its consequent operation was completed in 1971. The plant situated on the dam provides the country with most of its needed electricity. Recently, spanning over the last few decades, a rapid rate of silt deposition has occurred in the Peligre Reservoir reducing the energy producing capability of the reservoir. The sedimentation is in large part due to the deforestation that has been plaguing the country over the years. The power plant, though needed, has fallen into near disrepair. The EDH lectricit d Ha ti , Haiti s federal electricity supplier, has done relatively little to restructure the plant however. As of current, the hydroelectric potential is estimated to be around 173 megawatts. Electricity production, though lacking in many areas, is increasing in part due to the repairs being made on the dam and the establishment of several other electrical plants.
