    Matthew Nicholas 1594 1661 was an English Dean of St. Paul s Cathedral , London. Life He was a younger brother of Sir Edward Nicholas , born on 26 September 1594. He was elected scholar of Winchester College in 1607. He matriculated as scholar of New College, Oxford New College , Oxford University Oxford , on 18 February 1614, graduated B.C.L. on 30 June 1620, and D.C.L. on 30 June 1627. He became rector of Westden , Wiltshire , in 1621 of Boughton , Hampshire , in 1629 master of St. Nicholas hospital in Hernham , Wiltshire, in 1630 prebendal rector of Wherwell , Hampshire, in 1637 vicar of Olveston , Gloucestershire , canon of Salisbury Cathedral and Dean of Bristol in 1639. He was made canon of Westminster in 1642, but was deprived after the outbreak of the First English Civil War and canon and dean of St. Paul s in 1660.     Nicholas Seagrave after 1256 1321 , lord of Stowe in Northamptonshire, was Earl Marshal Marshal of England from 1308 to 1316. He was the second son of Nicholas de Segrave, 1st Baron Segrave Nicholas of Seagrave , first Baron Seagrave and a leading supporter of Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester Simon de Montfort in his struggle with Henry III of England King Henry III . Nicholas Seagrave was first summoned to Parliament in 1295 and continued to be summoned until his death. In 1300 he was present at the siege of Caerlaverock Castle Caerlaverock in the retinue of Henry de Bohun, 1st Earl of Hereford , and in 1301 he sealed the barons remonstrances to the pope as Nicholas de Seagrave, lord of Stow . In 1301 he became involved in a dispute with Walter Langton , bishop of Lichfield , and in the same year he and his wife Alice were accused with many others of breaking houses belonging to Ralph de Monthermer, 1st Baron Monthermer . In the Scottish campaign of 1303 4 he became involved in another dispute, and when he was refused trial by combat he deserted the army to flee to France. On his return in 1305 he was apparently sentenced to death, but soon pardoned and restored to favour by King Edward I of England Edward I . He was one of Edward II of England Edward II s strongest supporters at the start of his reign, and in 1308 he was appointed Lord Marshal. However, he was an adherent of Thomas, 2nd Earl of Lancaster , who became a leader of the opposition to the king. This made Seagrave s position at court increasingly untenable, and he was replaced in 1316.     Nicholas Conroy 1816 &ndash October 13, 1879 was an Ireland Irish born farmer and politician in Prince Edward Island . He represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1846 to 1850 as a Tory and from 1859 to 1867 and from 1873 to 1879 as a Prince Edward Island Liberal Party Liberal member. He was born in Rathdowney , the son of Thomas Conroy, and came to Prince Edward Island with his father in 1835. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1842 but was elected in 1846. In 1851, he married Catherine McDonald. Conroy was defeated in 1867 in 1st Prince but was reelected in an 1873 by election after George William Howlan was named to the Canadian Senate. He supported the creation of separate school s in the province but became a trustee for the public school in Tignish, Prince Edward Island Tignish after the Public School Act of 1877 was passed. Conroy served as a member of the Executive Council for a short time in 1879 but resigned his seat in June 1879 due to poor health. He died of brain disease at home in Tignish later that year.     Nicholas Boson 1624 1708 was a writer in, and preserver of, the Cornish language . He was born in Newlyn to a landowning and merchant family involved in the pilchard fisheries. Nicholas s mother had prevented their neighbours and servants speaking Cornish to him, so he only became fluent in the language when he needed it for business with fishermen. He assisted both William Scawen and Edward Llwyd Edward Lhuyd in their recording of Cornish.
