  1. Endpoint interface

An endpoint interface , also known as a service endpoint interface SEI , is a term used in Java Platform, Enterprise Edition when exposing Enterprise JavaBean s as a Web service see also Service Implementation Bean SIB . It is annotated with code WebService code and is a component interface, which declares all the abstract methods that are exposed to the client. As it extends the code java.rmi.Remote code interface, all methods must throw the code RemoteException code . ref name uCertify cite web accessdate 2010 03 02 publisher uCertify location http www.ucertify.com title What is a web service endpoint interface? url http www.ucertify.com article what is a web service endpoint interface.html quote A web service endpoint interface is an interface annotated with the WebService annotation. It is a component interface that declares the abstract methods to be exposed to the clients. The web service endpoint interface extends the java.rmi.Remote interface, and all the methods of the interface must throw the RemoteException. The methods of a web service endpoint interface are implemented in a stateless session bean class. However, the methods of the class are not required to throw any RemoteException. ref A Web service client accesses a stateless session bean through the bean s Web service endpoint interface. Like a Enterprise JavaBean Remote and local interfaces remote interface , a Web service endpoint interface defines the business methods of the bean. In contrast to a remote interface, a Web service endpoint interface is not accompanied by a Enterprise JavaBean Home interfaces home interface , which defines the bean s life cycle methods. 1. Communication endpoint

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Context date October 2009 A communication endpoint is an interface exposed by a communicating party or by a communication channel. An example of the latter type of a communication endpoint is a publish subscribe topic or a group in group communication system s. A communication endpoint is a discoverable node of communication whose scope may be varied to narrow or broaden the discovery zone. Endpoints facilitate a standard programmable layer of abstraction whereby heterogeneous software systems and or subsystems may communicate with each other and that the means of communication are decoupled from the communicating subsystems. 1. H.323 Gatekeeper

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 An H.323 Gatekeeper serves the purpose of Call Admission Control and translation services from E.164 IDs commonly a phone number to IP addresses in an H.323 telephony network. Gatekeepers can be combined with a gateway function to proxy H.323 calls and are sometimes referred to as Session Border Controllers. A gatekeeper can also deny access or limit the number of simultaneous connections to prevent network congestion . H.323 endpoints are not required to register with a gatekeeper to be able to place point to point calls, but they are essential for any serious H.323 network to control call prefix routing and link capacities among other functions. A typical H323 Gatekeeper call flow for a successful call may look like Endpoint A Endpoint B 1234 1123 Endpoint A dials 1123 from the system. Endpoint A sends ARQ Admission Request to the Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper returns ACF Admission Confirmation with IP address of endpoint B. Endpoint A sends Q.931 call setup messages to endpoint B. Endpoint B sends the Gatekeeper an ARQ, asking if it can answer call. Gatekeeper returns an ACF with IP address of endpoint A. Endpoint B answers and sends Q.931 call setup messages to endpoint A. IRR sent to Gatekeeper from both endpoints. Either endpoint disconnects the call by sending a DRQ Disconnect Request to the Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper sends a DCF Disconnect Confirmation to both endpoints. The gatekeeper allows calls to be placed either Directly between endpoints Direct Endpoint Model , or Route the call signaling through itself Gatekeeper Routed Model . 1. Herpolhode

A herpolhode is the curve traced out by the endpoint of the angular velocity vector of a rigid rotor , a rotating rigid body . The endpoint of the angular velocity moves in a plane in absolute space, called the invariable plane, that is orthogonal to the angular momentum vector L . The fact that the herpolhode is a curve in the invariable plane appears as part of Poinsot s construction . The trajectory of the angular velocity around the angular momentum in the invariable plane is a circle in the case of a symmetric top , but it the general case wiggles inside an annulus, while still being concave towards the angular momentum.
